"Thanks for coming," Sam smiled, leading them out.
"Of course!" Prime Beta smiled. "It's a pleasure to finally visit the world Lady Valentina seems to have such an affinity for."
"'Lady Valentina?'" Sam tried not to laugh.
Prime Beta laughed and nodded. "Yes... So, where are we going?"
"Well, there's a press conference then you have a meeting with the President of our country," Sam explained. "Is that alright?"
The Prime nodded, smiling. "Sounds good to me."
Sam stepped on a teleporter with Beta and they teleported to the location.
"You replicated teleportation?" Beta asked, surprised.
Sam smiled sheepishly and nodded. "I did... My great grandmother helped too though."
"That's incredible," Beta commended, walking with Sam towards the stage.
They had just come on stage when half of the crowd began yelling protests against an alien on their planet. There were supporters, but the protestors drowned them out.
The Prime blinked, shocked by the comments on aliens. The press was recording everything as Sam tried to calm them down. Finally, someone chucked something at Beta. It almost hit Sam, who flinched and squeezed her eyes shut. Suddenly, Beta stopped the object with telekinesis, pulling it to her hand and looking at it for a moment. Everyone quieted down.
She set it down carefully and cleared her throat. "I see that I am not wanted on this planet... I will return home. However, please do not take it out on your Samantha... A mind like this doesn't come around that often."
Sam eyes widened and she looked between the crowd and Beta, tearing up. "I-I'm so sorry..."
Beta smiled and put a hand on her shoulder, gently leading her off stage. "It most certainly is not your fault, Samantha... They're just not ready. You're welcome on Rybrospo any time, but I should get going..."
"You're not going to stay to talk to the President...?" Sam asked.
Beta smiled and shook her head. "I don't think so... Hopefully, one day our planets can co-exist peacefully. Until that day, I will respect their wishes and leave. Thank you for you invitation." Beta gently wiped away Sam's tears. "Don't worry about it, Samantha... I'll see you next time you visit."
Sam smiled and sniffed. "Bye, Beta..."
Beta smiled back and disappeared.
Sam ran a hand through her hair and began pacing before stepping on the teleporter and going home. She kicked the wall, winced, then flopped on the couch, hugging a pillow tightly. She was frusterated and upset... How could people act that way? Is this how they acted 100 years ago when powers were revealed...?
