Midnight was taking a walk and suddenly felt lightheaded, sitting down on the grass and holding her head.
"Midnight? What's wrong?" her mother asked, hurrying over.
Midnight looked at her. "I... I'm just lightheaded, mom..."
Her mother frowned, helping her up. "Let's go inside."
She nodded slightly and they walked inside.

Midnight found out she was going to be a mom not long after. She walked over to Brant, smiling.
"Brant, we're going to be parents!" Midnight said with excitement, hugging him.
Brant's eyes widened in shock. Midnight was thrilled, but Brant was intimidated by the commitments... He decided he didn't want to be part of this anymore.
Brant snuck away that night and Midnight cried for days. When her father found Brant, he destroyed the runaway, which caused Midnight to cry for weeks.
When Midnight had Valena, it brought some light into her life. However, when she took a beach trip with her daughter when she was little and returned, her parents and much of Oscura had been destroyed by an alliance led by Brant's parents' kingdom. One of the allies included Raina and her mother, the queen of Luz.
That's when Midnight decided to become the queen of darkness. After that, she only found joy from her daughter, Valena, and always hoped to protect her.
