"It wasn't fair that our kingdom had to pay the price for the war the Emperor started," Genesis began.
Cedric nodded and added, "It wasn't fair that my father ended Genesis's father's life either. Or that I helped my father fight for so long..."
"Emperor Hugo was a very effective leader, but he wasn't a kind one," Genesis frowned. "He treated his son poorly and had a grudge against us because we merely stood in his way. I can happily announce that the Emperor's reign of terror is no more. Lane and I will continue to work together to better this kingdom. And now... I have someone by my side." She paused to smile at Cedric then continued. "It's been 4 years since I last served you and I have grown so much thanks to the Hero of Sakuro, Arcadia of earth, and their family. I'm ready to lead Haven back to being a voice of reason, justice, and hope in the universe. I hope you will support us."
The people erupted in cheers.
Gradually, the population increased until it surpassed what it had been before Haven fell. Surprisingly enough, the people accepted Cedric because Genesis did. They were great leaders and re-established a legendary kingdom.

"I have news to share regarding our personal life. Good news that I'm sure you'll be eager to know and celebrate with us..." Genesis stated.
Cedric smiled and nodded, taking Genesis's hand. "Genesis and I are having a child."
Cheers erupted, going on for at least a minute. They just smiled and listened.
Finally, Genesis continued, "We're very excited, as a couple and as your rulers. We have been fortunate enough to have the priviledge to leave something behind for our child...something much bigger than ourselves."

Genesis and Cedric smiled as their son stepped up in front of the crowd.
"Hello everyone... As you all know, I'm beginning to grow old... It's time for a new leader. It's time to pass on what we left for our son. My legacy... Our legacy. It is my honor..." Genesis removed her crown and handed it to her son as Cedric put his former crown on their son's head. "...to announce your new king! King Romano of Haven!"
The crowd erupted in cheers. Genesis smiled slightly, amazed how fast everything had gone by. There was still time left, but they both knew they didn't have long.
"It has been my honor..." Genesis said, tearing up. "To serve my people...and honor my father's legacy... And work with Lane... Visions run in my family... I've seen the day I die. It will be quiet and peaceful... And I will miss you all. Thank you for letting me have the honor of being your queen for these long, numerous years...thank you...for letting me learn and make mistakes... Thank you for not giving up on me. I hope that you will treat me son just as well as you've treated me."
The crowd erupted into deafening applause. Romano had a lot to live up to... But he was up to the challenge.

The day Genesis died was mourned by many, all across the stars. Ender visited and mourned deeply with Romano and Cedric for a few months. Ender was always shocked when he realized how common death was in other cultures... He wasn't used to this. He didn't know if he ever would be...
There was no doubt about it though. Genesis had lived a full life and had done something with it. Genesis was among Lane's favorite rulers... She would miss her - almost everyone would.
Romano had a lot to live up to... But with his young twins and his wife, he would do his best to make his mom proud.
