Val was hanging out in the living room, reading a book, when she suddenly winced and held her ears. "So loud..."
"What are you talking about?" Nate asked, hurrying over to his sister.
"After two generations of silence, now two of them are yelling at me very loudly," Val cringed.
She teleported the two yellers to where they were.
Beckett stopped yelling and elbowed Sam, who whacked him before quieting down.
"That actually worked?" Beckett asked under his breath.
"Whoa! Hi, I'm Sam! My great grandma Casey said hello yesterday. So nice to meet you!" Sam exclaimed, beaming.
Val blinked, rubbing her ears. "Uhh...hi! And uh... Yeah. I can always hear you guys when you yell for me... You're pretty loud..."
She fidgeted with a strand of hair. No human had come to see her since...since Julia and Chloe.
"I- wait, who's this?" Sam asked, glancing at Nate.
Nate grinned, waving. "Hi! I'm Nate, Val's big brother."
"Barely," Val crossed her arms.
Nate either didn't hear her or chose to ignore her. He glanced at Beckett, wondering who he was...
"Huh? Oh, I'm Beckett," Beckett stated. "Wait...did he say that out loud?"
Sam facepalmed. "No..."
"Oh, um... Sorry," Beckett apologized.
"No need," Nate shrugged.
Beckett also noticed a darkness and emptiness in his mind, but hardly found it appropriate to mention considering they barely just met.
"Wait... Earlier did you say Casey said hello?" Val questioned.
"Yeah, she cracked time travel," Sam shrugged.
Val stared at her for a moment then shook her head. "I mean... Okay then..."
"She said they used to know you and the others..." Beckett explained.
Sam quickly added, "And we'd love to meet the others too!"
Val thought for a moment then shrugged. "Sure, why not?"
"Why do you think Nate should introduce us instead?" Beckett asked.
Val jumped and she cleared her throat. "Please stay out of my head... And when you meet the others, please try not to invade their minds. It's a bit rude."
Beckett lowered his head and stuck his hands in his pockets, nodding slightly. He inwardly thought how it wasn't his fault people thought so loud...
"Anyway... Let's go, I guess," Val stated, linking arms with Nate.
Nate grinned. "We can start with the twins and Amory!"
They teleported away.
