Julia stepped off of the plane gracefully, accepting the staff's hand to steady her. Hudson rolled his eyes and slid down the rail past her, landing at the bottom and glancing at Nate.
"Thank you," Julia smiled, nodding to the guy then standing beside her brother. "Ah, hello."
Nate bowed slightly in greeting. "Hello, Mr. and Miss Meadows."
Hudson laughed. "So formal, honestly. Relax. We won't bite."
Julia gave him a look. "Hudson, he's being polite. You should try it sometime."
Hudson smiled sheepishly. "Right, sorry..."
Nate shook his head. "No worries. Anyway, I was assigned to escort you to your uncle's home."
He walked over and opened the door for them. Hudson ran over and got in the passenger seat. Julia calmly walked over and sat down in the backseat. Nate shut the door and got in the driver's seat, beginning to drive.
"Welcome to America," Nate smiled.
"Ah, yes, the ungrateful colonist country," Hudson joked.
Julia shook her head. "Hilarious."
Nate smiled in amusement.
"You two are taking this way too seriously. We're just teenagers, and only like 6th and 7th in line or something," Hudson shook his head.
Julia shrugged. "Just be grateful someone took the time to escort us, Hudson. I'd rather be driving with him than otherwise."
"Whatever..." Hudson's eyes widened. "Wait, hey, what are you doing on the right side of the roa-?! Oh right..."
Julia laughed. "I was thinking the same thing!"
Nate also laughed. "I bet that was strange..."
Julia smiled and shook her head, looking out the window.
This is...an interesting new place...
Julia nodded. 'Very... Have you been here before?'
Val was quiet for a moment then nodded. 'This land is where Teresa hid me... And then Richard found me.
Julia's eyes widened. 'This particular city?'
Val nodded. I believe this is where he lived...and where I enabled a majority of the powered people.
Julia was quiet. 'What are the odds...? Is it possible my uncle is involved?'
Your uncle...yes. I have a bone to pick with him, but...maybe he's changed. Be on your guard. Do not let him know about me, no matter what.
'I haven't told anyone, and I don't intend to. Don't worry.'
I know... I'm glad I'm with you. Oh! Pay attention, you've arrived!
Julia unbuckled and got out. "Sorry, I'm quite tired from the journey..."
Nate smiled. "No problem."
He shut the door behind her and walked over to the huge house. Julia and Hudson exchanged a look and followed.
"Big house...sweet," Hudson whispered.
Julia laughed quietly. "Appearances aren't everything. You know that."
"But they certainly help!" Hudson grinned.
Julia smiled and watched as Nate knocked.
Quinn opened the door. "Agent Potvin, what are you-? Ah! Juliana, Hudson. Welcome. Thank you for bringing them to me."
Nate nodded then bowed once more to the siblings before leaving.
"Hello, Uncle Quinn," Julia smiled, nodding in greeting.
Hudson just nodded a greeting.
"Are they here???" Crystal squeled, running downstairs to the door.
"Please, come in," Quinn smiled, opening the door wider so they could enter.
Hudson strolled in with his hands in his pocket. "Nice place you've got here, Uncle Q."
Julia smiled. "Thank you."
She walked in too and Quinn shut the door. As Julia walked past him, he could almost tell something was...different. He shook it off and watched as Crystal hugged them and chattered away happily. No... Julia was normal. It had been proven before through testing. But still... No, perhaps it was just an air of authority and respect she possessed. That must be it.
