Ginger drove home after dinner and walked in their apartment. She saw Ray searching the cookie jar and the kitchen.
She smiled and walked in. "I haven't baked any more cookies since earlier. I ate the rest of them... Sorry Ray."
"Oh, okay," Ray laughed slightly, putting the lid back on. "I just thought I misplaced a letter somewhere..."
"Oh, was it your check? From the store?" Ginger smiled. "We could go shopping for Rex."
"Uh, yeah. It was!" Ray nodded. "And sure, babe, as soon as I-"
Ginger pulled out the letter and looked at him. "I didn't know Meadows Industries owned a groccery store chain."
Ray's eyes widened. "Oh, uh, Ginger-"
Ginger sighed and handed it to him. "Why did you lie to me?"
"I...I got a good paying job to make more for the baby, and... I knew you wouldn't approve because your uncle, but... I knew the groccery store wouldn't be enough for us anymore. Especially with the appointments and stuff..." Ray explained.
Ginger sighed and looked at him. "Okay. What do you do?"
Ray blinked. "I-um-..."
Ginger crossed her arms, waiting. "Well?"
Ray sighed. "It's...complicated..."
"As complicated as me going back to my aunt's house and staying the night?" Ginger asked.
Ray sighed. "Babe, I'm just-"
"If you're going to lie to me again, don't waste your breath," Ginger sighed, turning and walking out. "You're sleeping on the couch."
Ray sighed and nodded. "Okay..."
She went upstairs to bed and sighed, lying down and staring ahead. What was he hiding...?- - - - -
The next morning, she woke up and she was in a car. She looked around and noticed Ray was sitting beside her. He smiled sheepishly. Another man was in the car across from them. She realized it was a limo.
"What...?" Ginger began.
"Ginger-" Ray began.
"Ginger, how lovely it is to finally meet you," Quinn smiled.
"Why am I here...?" Ginger frowned.
"You wanted to know more about where your husband worked, so allow us to show you around," Quinn smiled. "He's been very good in our technology department."
The car stopped and Quinn got out, opening the door for her. Ginger got out slowly, almost losing her balance. Quinn steadied her and then Ray also got out. He held her hand with a smile as Quinn began to walk in. They followed.
"Now, I know your uncle is my rival... But consider me more of a friendly competitor. After all, I offered Ray a job. Not your uncle," Quinn smiled.
Ginger simply looked at him, not impressed. "And how did you meet my husband to offer him this job?"
"Through the college," Ray replied, without missing a beat. "I got to tour his company before we met, and it was a great experience."
Ginger nodded then shrugged. "Alright."
Quinn smiled. "Let the tour begin."
They walked her through, spending a while more on Ray's 'tech department' than the others. Ginger might have been convinced if she didn't notice Landon Andrews watching her wherever she went. If she didn't buy it, they had other plans. So she played their game... But the second she found anything that showed otherwise, Ray was busted. Just...not now. Not with them putting on this show and bringing her to their territory. Sure, she had her powers, but she was sure they had means to deal with her... And she wasn't very good at her powers at the moment. They were thrown off by the pregnancy.- - - - -
They got home and Ray smiled at her.
"Wasn't it a great day?" Ray smiled.
Ginger nodded, smiling. "It was... It looks like a good job. Is it difficult?"
Ray's smile wavered for a moment. "It...can be at times."
Ginger noticed in his eyes he was lying, but she just smiled. "I'm proud of you." She kissed his cheek. "I'll wash the dishes. You go rest up for tomorrow at work."
Ray started to say something, but nodded, smiling. "Okay. Thanks babe. Goodnight."
Ginger smiled back, filling up the dishwasher. He went upstairs. She quickly finished then went over to his desk, going through it. It didn't take her long to find a compartment, crack the code, and discover his research about Charles. So he was a spy... Unbelievable. Until she was sure what was going on and if she was safe... She grabbed her bag, the keys, and drove off towards Nina and Charles's house.
