   Prompt: "Son of a bitch!"

   WARNINGS: Infidelity, sex talk sorta

You sighed as you wiped the tears off of your face in order to get yourself in the state to drive. You had just caught your boyfriend, Jake,  with another woman. In the house that you had both shared. In the bed that you had both shared. You broke up with Jake immediately, walking out and slamming the door behind you as you made your way to your car. The engine sputtered back to life as you drove off, knowing exactly where you were going. You took the familiar route to the park, stopping in the makeshift gravel parking lot that they had not too far from the trees. You got out, sniffling as you reached for the book that you had in your passengers' seat. The wind was whistling as you walked over to the benches, sitting down and opening up your book to the bookmark and reading the first sentence on that page.

People walked by with their dogs or kids and you enjoyed it, but you loved when no one was walking around you, the piece and quiet making the park all that more better. However, the clouds were starting to roll in and the low rumble of thunder filled your ears as you finished the page and put your bookmark back in the book. As you walked back to the car, you could hear your phone ringing in your pocket; it had been ringing for the past twenty minutes and you knew it was him, so you ignored it. You climbed into your car, turning it on and slowly backing up. Suddenly, a dog appeared behind your car and you slammed on the brakes, not wanting to hit it. The big dog came around to the driver's side, propping itself up onto your window. You rolled it down, patting it on the head as you read his collar.

"Apollo, huh," you said as he started to wag his tail and bark happily. "What do ya say I take you home?" You started to open the door, watching as he got down and started to wag his tail some more. He followed you to the passengers' side of the car, hopping in and sitting calmly in the seat. You went back to your side, checking the address on his tag one more time before heading off to take him home. You rolled the window down for him, watching his tongue fly backwards. Apollo's barks filled the air as you approached the address that was on his collar, and you could tell he sensed that you were getting closer to his house by the second. You saw the big golden 25 on the door of the last house on Spruce Road, the exact address that matched the dog's collar. You parked in front of the house, noticing the light flicker on as you opened the door to allow Apollo to climb out. His thick, red collar was in your grasp, giving you assurance that he wouldn't run away before he was near the door. The door swung open as you leaned in to knock on it, surprising you as you jumped back a bit.

"Hey," the man said as he looked down at Apollo. "Thanks for bringing him back. I-I wasn't paying attention to when he climbed the fence. I searched for him for hours. Come in, come in." You walked in as the rain began to fall, the ominous clouds finally doing something other than hover. You let Apollo go, him immediately trotting over to his food bowl, gobbling it up as the man stuck out his hand. "I'm Jensen, by the way."

"Huh," you chuckled as he tilted his head at you. "My boyfr-ex boyfriend has a friend named Jensen. Sorry, I just made the connection." You grabbed his hand giving it a firm shake. "I'm (Y/N)."

"Son of a bitch! I thought you looked familiar. Why aren't you and him together anymore?" It was an innocent question, yet it hit you hard. However, you weren't going to lie to Jensen and you assumed he would find out sooner or later from the little friend group that they both seemed to be apart of.

"He cheated on me this morning." Jensen's eyes went wide as he looked at you. "What? At least that led to be bringing Apollo back safe and sound." He shook his head as he shrugged.

"It's just...my girlfriend, who's now my ex," he said gesturing to a pile of boxes in the corner of the living room, "cheated on me today, too."

"Red hair? Dark eyes?" He nodded frantically as you let out a roaring laugh. "Our exes cheated on us with each other. Holy shit, how'd you find out? I walked in on them." Jensen stifled a laugh as he led you to sit on the couch with him.

"I called her and she answered while he was eating her out," he said as he ran his hand through is hair. "You could hear both of them moaning and when I asked her about it she told me straight out. I was upset and didn't notice that Apollo got out while I was packing her stuff. Where'd you find him anyway?"

"The park," you answered. "He appeared behind my car as I was trying to back out of the parking space." He started laughing, his eyes crinkling at the edges as the laugh threw him backwards.

"Sounds like him," Jensen said as he stopped laughing, leaning down to pat Apollo on the head as he snored. "You want something to eat? You probably don't want to go back home and I think it's the least I could do since...ya know." You nodded as he smiled. "Pizza? I was gonna make myself a burger but it's pouring and I haven't gone to the grocery store this week."

"Perfect." He picked up his phone, dialing a number before asking you what you wanted on your pizza. "Plain." He nodded as someone picked up on the other end and he ordered the pizza.

"30 minutes," he said as you nodded, pulling your phone out of your pocket to see upwards of 200 texts from Jake. You opened them. They started out as apologies but soon turned into threats and him saying that all of your things were on the lawn in the rain. You sighed, running your hand through your hair as put your phone down on the small coffee table in front of you. "You alright." You looked over at Jensen to see him concerned.

"All my stuff is out on the front lawn," you said, your voice cracking a bit as you sniffled. "At least you're nice enough of a guy to pack everything up neat and keep it inside."

"After we eat, I'll go with you to get all of your stuff and then I'll punch Jake in the face," he said nonchalantly as you smiled a bit. "Sound good?" You nodded. "Good. Now, what movie should we watch while we wait?"
