Two updates in one day? Guess I'm feeling a little crazy XD Also, tell me if you want me to make this a full story thanks ily - Emma (adorableteddys)

Gabriel hated the tattoo shop. He hated all of the drunks that walked in and their stupid ideas for tattoos they would soon regret and he hated his coworkers and their condescending attitudes. They had all been working there for 2 or more years while he had only been there 6 months, yet Gabriel was the one who always had the most customers and the most talent. Gabriel was a talented artist, being able to freehand pretty much any design you wanted, even the most intricate ones. His customers would recommend him to anyone they could, but it wasn't enough to extinguish his hatred for the shop. Yes, the customers were lovely and the pay was utterly fantastic, but he wanted to do something else. His real dream was to be an art teacher, but Gabriel's family couldn't afford that financially, crushing his dream far beyond recognition.

Gabriel was once again loathing the sound of the buzzing needles and the muffled whimpers of the people who had terribly low pain tolerances. If they were going to whine about it, what was the point of even getting a fucking tattoo? The bell of the door rang and he sighed, standing out of his seat behind the counter. He looked up at the customer and was met with beautiful hazel eyes. His mood skyrocketed and he held out his hand to greet the mysterious stranger.

"Hey, I'm Gabe. Whattcha lookin' to do today," he asked as he took out a pad of paper from under the counter, with his hand still extended. When the man didn't return his gesture, Gabe awkwardly spread the pad neatly on the table while putting one hand down, reaching over to grab a pencil from the mug on the other side of the counter. The man looked at him and smiled, obviously not paying attention to Gabriel before wen he had his hand extended.

"I'm, uh, Sam. I actually don't know what I want in particular. I just know that I want something with flowers," he said with a smile as Gabe began scribbling the date and name of the customer on the note pad with a nod.

"Do you want them colorful, filled in with black ink, just traced? A single flower or a cluster of 'em?" Gabe knew he was bombarding him with questions, but he wasn't given much to work with. Maybe this was a spur of the moment type thing? Maybe he was just doing this to impress someone, which is usually the case when someone only knows the topic of their tattoo and not all the details.

"Flowers are my life, man. I own the shop down the street," Sam said as he gestured his hand blindlessly to the street behind him and continued to answer Gabe's questions. "I kinda envisioned a cluster traced in black ink with maybe some yellows and greens. Maybe a bunch of marigolds and daisies." He watched as Gabe nodded and took his pencil and began sketching lightly. After a few minutes, Gabe lifted up the pad of paper to show off a medium sized cluster of flowers, complete with marigolds and daisies and leaves. It had an artsy feel to it, making Sam smile a little to himself.

"So, what about this," Gabe asked as he admired the man in front of him. Sam nodded, making Gabe break out into a huge smile.

"It's different from anything I've ever gotten here. It has...something special about it." Gabe's cheeks started to hurt and he brought Sam back, leading him to a chair. Sam sat, watching Gabe's every move. He watched as Gabe stenciled the tattoo, as he put the stencil on his upper arm, as he prepped the needle. As the buzzing started, Sam stayed relaxed and tried to start up a conversation. "What's it like being a tattoo artist?"

Gabe scoffed and shrugged his shoulders. "It's either delightful or boring. What's it like being a florist?" Sam smiled.

"It's great. The people that come in are all wonderful and sweet. But then again, it's usually just a bunch of old women looking for something to give to their daughters or granddaughters," Sam confessed as he tensed up from Gabe hitting a sensitive spot. He heard him mumble a 'sorry' and continue. "Why have I never seen you around here before?"

"Have you been here at any point in the past 6 months?" Sam shook his head. "That's why. I'm the newest employee."

"So I'm guessing Johnny left," Sam asked as Gabriel nodded his head. "He was the guy that did all of my other tattoos. Like the kite on my forearm and the dog on my back." Gabriel nodded as he cleaned the needle and dipped it into the yellow. "Why a kite and dog?"

"Well, when I was younger, my brother got me a kite for Christmas. We moved around a lot and didn't have lots of money, but he had saved up for months to get me it. I have a dog at home and their my favorite animals," Sam answered as Gabe spread the yellow in the spots that he had marked. Gabriel nodded as Sam continued to ask questions. "How many tattoos do you have."

Gabriel looked into his eyes and shrugged. "I dunno. Maybe 20, 30 even." He cleaned the needle again, this time dipping it into the green. "Relax for a sec. I'm about to hit that sensitive spot again." Sam nodded as he felt a jolt of pain through his body but didn't move to make it easier for Gabe. He continued coloring in the green. He stopped, sighing and looking at Sam. "I wanna take ya out. What time are you free?"

Sam was taken back. Why would Gabe wanna go out with him? Nevertheless, he smiled and felt his cheeks heat up. "I'm free right after this if you are." Gabe nodded, picking the needle back up and continuing to color in the empty spaces of Sam's tattoo. He smiled to himself, happy that he was able to score the guy of his dreams. This was the only day he would ever say that he sorta liked the tattoo shop: the tattoo shop that introduced him to someone he could not stop smiling at. The tattoo shop that gave him the worst headache everyday after work had finally made him happy.
