Best Friends (Jared×Reader)

   The convention hall was crowded, people rushing around to get to a tent themed after their favorite TV show or superhero. You had come to Comic Con to surprise your friend, Jared, and were trying super hard to lay low. Many of the Supernatural fans knew who you were, due to Jared and Gen having plenty of pictures where you made an appearance on their Instagrams, and you didn't want any of them spoiling the surprise. It took you for what seemed like forever to get to the room the panel was being held in and you rushed to get a seat close to the front; however, you didn't sit front in center. Jensen had known weeks in advance that you were going to try your hardest to make it and had promised to pick you to ask a question. You quickly texted him and told him where you had sat. When you had gotten into the room, it was quiet, but more people had made there way in, causing the room to become a cacophony of different voices. Rob and Rich appeared on stage, causing the room regular speaking voices to die out and the it to erupt in cheers instead. 

   "So, I'm sure you guys know, but we might have some very special guests here today," Rich said sarcastically as Rob locked eyes with you. He waved excitedly, causing you to chuckle and wave back. "Today, we have some of our very own. Please  Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Jared Padalecki, and Mark Sheppard." The crowd erupted into even louder cheers when the four men stepped out from the side of the stage. Jensen spotted you in an instant, giving you a discreet wave as he sat down in his seat. You smiled back, trying not to draw to much attention to yourself as you notice Jared looking out into the crowd. 

   "Hey y'all," Jared said in his diluted southern accent. The room, for the 3rd time in 10 minutes, exploded into cheers once again. The boys looked so at home up on the platform, laughing and smiling and telling jokes. Seeing your best friend interact with every fan that was called on to ask a question was absolutely mesmerizing. Jared was one to put all of his feelings out in the open, everyone knew that, but when he was with fans, it was more prominent. He obviously didn't feel as if they were any different than you or anyone in his personal life, treating them as if they were his friends. After a few more questions, Jensen decided that it was his turn to pick a fan to answer the question. 

   "So, Jar, we have a little surprise for you," Jensen said as he motioned for you to stand up. You were handed a mic and as you stood, you noticed Jared's eyes widen and a huge smile spread across his face. You waved at him as he waved back, making his way to the end of the stage to climb down the stairs and give you a hug. He made it to you, wrapping you in a humongous bear hug. When he pulled away, you shoved his shoulder playfully, catching him off guard. 

   "Can I ask my question now," you asked, feigning annoyance, causing Jared to break out into a laughing fit. You laughed too, breaking your act. "So, Jared, what's it like not seeing your best friend for 8 months?" He rolled his eyes as he grabbed the microphone from your hand. 

   "Oh, it's absolutely amazing, (Y/N). I don't have to deal with her annoying voice and her annoying clinginess-" you cut him off with a small, fake gasp.  

   "I am not clingy, Padalecki. I think you're talking about yourself," you sassed back as Jensen chuckled from up on stage. 

   "Alright, kids. Keep it civil. Keep it civil." The audience burst into laughter at Jensen's attempt to "calm" you and Jared down. Before Jared went back on stage, he gave you one last hug. 

   "Meet me outside the convention center when this is over," he said as he started to walk off. "We're going to go out and enjoy some time together, to make up for how long it's been." You smiled throughout the entire panel as people started asking more about you and Jared's friendship and laughed at the memories he shared. After 30 years of being best friends, you found even more reasons to love him by just sitting in an hour long panel and seeing him interact in a place that he loved, surrounded by the fans and friends that he loved.
