Yuto X Werewolf!Reader

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Yuto asked, worried.

"Yeah....." you breathed, pushing away his hands. "It's just a scratch. Those Fusion users can't get me that easily."

Yuto sighed. "Alright then. I'll be on patrol."

You sighed and fell back onto the mattress as he left. "Dang," you muttered, rubbing your side. What you had described as "just a scratch" was actually a gash that had several pieces of metal buried in it. You carefully pulled each one out, wincing. "I should have let Yuto do this," you groaned aloud as your reflexes begged you to stop.

"Well, well, well? A survivor?" you heard a voice call.

Damn it! you thought, trying to sit up. A boy with purple and pink hair was standing in the corner, and for a moment you gasped, shocked. "Yuto?"

"I don't know who this 'Yuto', is," the boy said. "But he's probably a card by now. Just as you will be soon!" He laughed and raised his duel disk.

You closed your eyes and thought, come on, come on, just a few more seconds.....

The full moon's light burst through the overhead window, sending your body into chaos. You went through your monthly transformation that you tried so hard to hide from Yuto- and if you weren't careful, it would be for nothing.

The boy's eyes widened. "Wha- What are you?" he exclaimed, stepping back as you shapeshifted into a wolf.

You growled at him and swatted him with your paw, sending him crashing into the wall. Quickly, you bounded out the door, determined to find Yuto and see if he was a card or not.

The first person you saw was Ruri, trying to help two kids escape. You snagged the back of their shirts and dragged them to safety, leaving Ruri to face- the boy from earlier? What did it take to keep him down?

Ruri could handle him. You knew it. Yuto and Shun could be in trouble.

Quickly, you left, rushing through the streets. It wasn't hard to find Shun. He was dueling, taking down Fusion duelist after Fusion duelist. You helped him by sending the students flying. Once there was a break in the waves, you turned to Shun.

"I don't know where he is, I'm sorry," Shun panted, petting your neck. "But you can find him." He held up a piece of torn fabric off of Yuto's cloak. You sniffed it and instantly caught Yuto's scent. Turning, you led Shun to a building. Inside lay Yuto, at the mercy of Obelisk Force.

What happened next can only be described as a bloodbath. You growled, stepped back, then launched onto the soldiers, effectively saving Yuto and actually killing the other duelists. Your teeth ripped through their skin, tearing them to bits. It all happened so suddenly that you didn't have time to think. It was like primal instincts took over.

Once the floor and your fur were coated in blood, you turned to Yuto. His eyes widened. "Y/n?" he exclaimed.

You nodded your wolf head and fell at his feet, darkness filling your vision.

Sunlight woke you- it must have been days since you collapsed. Yuto was sitting in a chair next to your bed, sound asleep. You reached for his arm and grabbed his wrist. "You weren't supposed to see that," you whispered.

Yuto opened his eyes. "I know," he replied. "But thank you. For saving me."

You shook your head. "I killed people, Yuto. How can you live with having me as a friend?"

He crawled into bed with you, cradling you for a moment before pushing himself up, propping his head on his hand. "Because I know that Y/n's still behind the fur and teeth. Because my friend would never hurt a fly unless she had to. Because....." he smiled and stroked your hair. "Because I love you."

You blushed. "Yuto....."

He leaned forward and kissed your forehead. "But I'm mad at you for lying to me. You had metal in your side, Y/n. You almost died."

"I'm a fighter, Yuto," you told him, kissing his cheek in return. "I'll stick around and keep you in line."

Yuto chuckled and snuggled into your embrace, knowing you were safe in his arms, and he in yours.

That turned out longer than I expected.
