I forget who requested dis :P
But here you go
Seto: I'll be hiding in this random closet.
Me: Come on, I thought Joey brought you out of the closet.
Joey: *gags*
Pegasus: Oh Kaiba-boy~!
Seto: *runs*
Me: RUN SETO!
You set down your case of art down, taking in the lavish surroundings. It was unbelievable, really.
It was a relaxing summer day, easily spent outside by your pool. Your parents were inside, discussing whatever parents discuss, and you were taking laps in the water.
Suddenly, the back gate swung open and two men in business suits walked in. They walked up to the edge of the pool. "Are you Miss Y/n L/n?"
"Yes," you said warily.
The other set an envelope on the edge of the poolside table. "We were instructed to deliver this to a Miss Y/n L/n. It's from Industrial Illusions."
They left as quickly as they had come. Unsure, you got out of the pool and went to your room. You switched out of your wet swimsuit into a more comfortable outfit, (insert whatever). Then you went back down to the pool and picked up the envelope.
Inside, you found a letter and a plane ticket. You unfolded the letter and read it.
Dear Miss Y/n L/n,
I must open with a remark on your recent Grand Prize award at the national art show. My biggest congratulations on that accomplishment! It is because of this that I am pleased to announce that I would like to have you on board as a card art designer at Industrial Illusions. Enclosed, you will find a plane ticket for a flight that leaves two days from tomorrow. Please get on that flight and once your plane lands, find a man with a purple rose in his lapel. Ask him this question: "What was created out of sea foam by Poseidon?" He will bring you to the castle. I sincerely hope that you will take me up on this offer.
Yours truly,
Maximillion J. Pegasus
You gasped. An invitation to come and work at Industrial Illusions? You couldn't wait!
And that's how that happened. You had yet to meet Pegasus himself, but you decided that that could wait until you had unpacked. As you were hanging up dress shirts, another guard walked in and said, "Mr. Pegasus requests your presence in the main hall."
Immediately, you headed to the large and extravagant entrance hall, where (the man, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND! SCOTT STERLING!!! im done now) Pegasus was standing.
"Oh! Y/n-girl, you made it! I'm so glad," the man exclaimed. "Welcome to Duelist Kingdom. I trust your flight was accommodating?"
"Yes, sir, it was," you said, smiling at the thought of the sketchbook and pencils that had been provided after you had gotten on the second plane.
He nodded. "I hope your room is fine, if not, we can get you a different one."
You shook your head. "Oh, no, sir, it's fine! I love it."
"Good. Now we must talk business. Follow me, please." Pegasus started towards the dining room. You followed him and sat down at a seat next to his chair at the end of the table.
He opened what you recognized as your portfolio and examined it. "This is excellent art. I especially love this rendition of the Dark Magician Girl. I do have one test for you before you start."
You swallowed. Tests weren't your thing, even art tests.
"Draw me, and if you're successful, you may start working here."
That was odd. Nevertheless, you got out your sketchbook and began to draw. You covered the lines of his face, every strand of hair, his folded arms.
When you were done, you shaded and colored the image. Then you turned your sketchbook around and showed Pegasus.
He took the book and examined the picture. "This is an excellent likeness. It's so fabulous!" Pegasus smiled at you. "When can you start working, Miss L/n?"
Your eyes widened and you grinned. "Right away, sir."
"Please, call me Pegasus," he said, graciously standing and offering you his hand.
Lightly, you took it and let him pull you to your feet. "Get some rest, Miss L/n. Drawing starts early tomorrow."
You headed to your room and changed into your pajamas, then snuggled under the covers and fell asleep, unaware of the eye fixed on the security camera showing your room.
The next morning, you stretched lazily, then stood, dressed for the day, and headed downstairs. Other workers directed you to the kitchen, where you ate a simple but filling meal.
Once breakfast was done, you headed into the studio, following directions on a map given to you by Pegasus.
In fact, once you got there, you saw the man himself sitting in the corner. "Good morning. I trust your sleep was pleasant?"
You nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Pegasus." Turning to the board, you glanced over the names of monsters. Secret Light Sorcerer? Interesting.
The pencil flowed across the page, sketching out a woman stepping out of a light portal-thing and holding a scepter gracefully.
While you were sketching, Pegasus moved to stand behind you and watched you work, adding bits of color here and there, dropping water where you needed it, et cetera.
You became aware of someone behind you and you turned around. "Oh, Mr. Pegasus! Sorry, you scared me."
Pegasus smirked. "I'm so sorry, dear Y/n-girl. I was merely watching you sketch. Your movements are ever graceful."
A blush came over your face at the compliment and you turned back to your work. The next card was titled Magnum Princess.
You could practically feel Pegasus breathing down your neck and it caused your hand to shake a little. Pegasus put a steadying hand on your shoulder and you calmed down a little.
Maybe this new job will be a little more interesting than I thought.
Aly: *throws iPad across the room* DONE!
Kaiba: Thank Ra!
Pegasus: Kaiba-boy!!!!!
Kaiba: *runs*
Joey: They remin' me o' Grell an' Sebast'n. Guess whic' on's Sebast'n!
Aly: *sarcastic* Gee, I wonder!
