Atem X Reader- Afterlife

Y/n's POV:

"You can't go."

"I have to."

"PLEASE!"

"Leave me alone, Y/n."

"DON'T LEAVE ME!"

Atem sighed. "Y/n, I have to go on. This world isn't my place."

I held onto his arms. "Atem, don't leave me here. You're my only friend in the whole world."

Atem smiled. "Yugi is your friend too."

He pulled me into a hug. "Besides, why be friends with me? I'm just, I would never deserve your friendship!"

"Oh, Atem," I said. "If only you knew that I'm the one who shouldn't be your friend. I've done terrible things. I-"

Atem pressed a finger to my lips. "I know you've done terrible things, I just can't allow you to not be friends with me, because I personally don't want to leave the only person I'm so certain I love, and- wait, did I say that out loud?"

His eyes widened. "Forget I said anything."

I rolled my eyes. "Oh, shut up, Atem."

I stood on my tiptoes so I could gently kiss him. He gasped in surprise, but eventually kissed me back. I sighed and started to tangle my fingers into his hair, but he pulled back.

"Stop," he said, "I don't want this to be any more painful for either of us than it already is."

"You're worried about me being hurt?" I queried.

"Yeah, I will have to leave, but-"

"Take me with you."

Atem looked at me as if I was crazy. "What?"

I swallowed. "Take me with you."

Atem stared at me, confused. "Would you really leave everyone you know, everyone you love, for me?"

I nodded. "I mean it."

Atem sighed. "I know you too well to think you'd back away from something like that, and there's nothing I can do to sway you from that."

I nodded again.

He smiled. "Then I'll try to bring you. Alright?"

I grinned, pushing the pharaoh back onto the chair and sitting on his lap. "Alright. I can't live without you."

The ancient pharaoh's grin lit up the room. He wrapped his arms around me, and that was how we fell asleep.

Kaiba: *clears throat*

Me: *purposely ignoring Kaiba* BEST EVER! *grabs Yugi's arm and gives him a hug*

Yugi: You're squishing me.....

Kaiba: I'll just go.....and by the way, Aly doesn't own Yu-Gi-Oh! or any of the characters. She does, however, appear to own all Yugi's hugs.....
