Jaden X Reader- Sardines

JJ: Our first GX oneshot!

Aly: With little Kuriboh-head Jaden!

Chloe: *climbs up on Jaden's back and gives him a noogie* KURIBOH HEAD KURIBOH HEAD

Jaden: I am NOT a Kuriboh-head!

Kuriboh: *cricket noises*

Jaden: Okay, maybe a little.

Yugi: And I guess it's all thanks to me giving you that Winged Kuriboh card in the first episode that we just finished around ten minutes ago?

Aly: ......

JJ: So anyway, let us begin!

Chloe: This is an Aly work. The scenario is that Jaden, the gang from the original, and Reader-chan are playing Sardines! What happens when Jaden finds Reader in her super- small hiding spot?

JJ: If you don't know how to play, it's basically the reverse of regular hide and seek. One person hides, everyone else counts, and when you find the person, you have to squish in their hiding spot and pop their personal bubble! Best. Game. Ever.

Joey: *clears throat* Atem.

Atem: You called?

JJ: *rolls eyes* except for Duel Monsters, of course!

Atem: 😅😅

Aly: Let's get started.

I hurried off as Joey called, "One, two three-" and so on. 

Quickly, I found my super-secret hiding spot (a hollow willow tree) and ducked under the roots. I then huddled up into a little ball since the spot was so tight.

Crack.

My head jerked up.

Crack.

That sounds like someone kicking the tree.

Slam!

A few roots break into the tree, and a boy falls down the narrow chute into the center of the trunk. I quickly commence my backup plan, scrambling up into the branches.

"Huh," he says. Oh no. Anyone but Jaden Yuki.

Shoot. 

"I guess she's not here," I hear him say. I tighten my grip on the branch, then feel it start to crack. I try to scramble up but only succeed in putting more of my weight on the branch and I start falling. I scream as bark rains around me, and then something breaks my fall but doesn't collapse under me, just holds me suspended. 

I slowly crack open my eyes to see Jaden's brown ones staring at me, and I realize, Holy *beep* I'm being carried by Jaden Yuki!

(Unbeknownst to Jaden, Reader-chan has a crush on him BTW)

"I thought I heard something," he said, smirking.

I gulped. "J-Jaden?"

"Nice hiding spot. Would be convincing to everyone but the person who had actually hidden here before. AKA me." His smirk changed to a mischievous look.

"Jaden?" I said again.

"Y/n, you have no idea why on earth I've gone easy on you in literally every duel? Why I save you every time you almost step off some sort of figurative ledge? The answer lies here," he said, somehow holding me with one arm while gesturing to his heart.

"That's great, Jaden," I stuttered. "Can you please put me down?"

Jaden set me on my feet, only to pull me into a hug. "Don't you get it? I love you, Y/n. You're always in my heart and in my thoughts."

Holy *beep* on a *beep* sandwich! I thought. 

Jaden's hand found my chin as he sank to the ground, pulling me with him. His face was so close I could just- 

I tackled him to the ground, pressing my lips onto his, smirking as he tightened his grip on me and kissed back. 

Suddenly, I heard a "WOAH!" and Joey tumbled into the hollow. Jaden and I quickly shot apart, gasping for air.

Joey snickered. "Don't pretend like you weren't just kissin' each otha like it wa the last day o' Ear'h!" (Not even going to bother with that Brooklyn accent)

Jaden blushed as red as his Slifer jacket and I wasn't much paler.

The Brooklyn blond leapt to his feet and scrambled out. "I'ma tell!"

I sighed. "Well, that ended weird."

Jaden laughed. "You can say that again." Then he crawled over and gently wrapped his arms around me, touching his lips to mine. I instantly tangled my fingers in his hair, smiling. 

Joey never found the hiding spot again.

Aly: Sometimes I shock myself at my talent.

JJ: Even in writing XReaders that don't involve Yugi.

Chloe: Or-

Aly: *ducktapes Chloe's mouth shut and nonchalantly shoves her into a closet*

Atem: That was interesting.

Jaden: I guess so. *shrugs*

Aly: Follow-

JJ: -comment-

Chloe: -and request!
