Joey X Reader- TFIOS references

Did(Conversation before I wrote this)

JJ(my twin): OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG MY DREAMS ARE ALL COMING TRUEEEE

Yugi: Holy Mother of Slifer....

Me: *trying to concentrate*

Joey: *walks in sassily* Heyo people! Anyone wanna due-

JJ: *launches up from her chair* JJOOOOOOEEEEEEYYYYYYY~

Joey: Hi, JJ! *gives my poor twin sister a hug*

Mokuba: Chloe, your older sister is acting super weird....

Chloe(my little sis): Yeah....but which one?

Yugi: HEY! Don't call Aly that weird.

Seto: *under his breath* Yugi and Aly sitting in a tree. 

Yugi/Me: *death glares Kaiba-boy*

Seto: Um, D-u-e-l-i-n-g?

Me: *hugs Yugi* He'd beat me though.....😢

Yugi: *hugs me back* I would never dream of it!

Me: *turns back to computer while Yugi is still hugging me and begins*

Ok story timeeeeee!

Y/n POV:

I started down the street, wishing I wasn't wearing a tank top and cutoff shorts from gym. And oh good gosh, I was sweating buckets. And I had to go to the cafe for some fruit punch with my crush, Joey Wheeler!

(JJ: SQUEEEEEE!    Me: Cool it, JJ.)

I hurried to the cafe, throwing open the door. Off to the side, I noted Joey's friends were sitting in a separate booth from where he was (near the window). Little spies.

Off to the side, I noticed Joey sitting at a table with two Starbucks drinks in front of him. (If you don't like Starbucks, first, shame on you (JK), and secondly, just change it) He had a double chocolate mocha for him and a (your favorite coffee or chocolate beverage) for me. 

"Heya, (your nickname=n/n) n/n! How's it been with you?" He exclaimed happily.

"Great, Wheeler, thanks!" I replied. "How about you?"

"Oh, I'm grand. I'm on a roller coaster that only goes up," he said playfully, shooting a straw wrapper at me. 

I dodged the wrapper, laughing. "Nice shot, Joey." 

He laughed too. "Hey, wanna go to the park? I hear the falling seeds of the trees are very pretty in the spring!"

"Alright," I said a bit reluctantly.

In the car, Joey insisted on driving so I wouldn't know which park we were going to, which was bad, because he drove horrifically. Literally, and not in the metaphorical sense that he scared me every time he started and stopped, which he did.

"You do realize," he said, "that all efforts to save yourself from me will fail.

"Joey," I giggled.

"I'm serious!" 

Once we reached the park, Joey and I sat on a park bench, watching some little kids play on the playground that was shaped like a pirate ship.

"Two things I love about this playground," Joey said. "One, that it's shaped like a dangerous thing from the Middle Ages. So like, if you're a kid, you think, I'm gonna fire this cannon, and it's going to hit that kid, and he's gonna pretend to fall down dead. Which leads me to the second thing, it essentially forces children to play on a dangerous and deadly thing from the Middle Ages. The symbolic resonances are ENDLESS, Y/n L/n."

"You sure do love your symbols," I laughed. Then, I pulled a book from my bag called The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

"I'm in love with you," Joey blurted suddenly. 

My head whipped towards him. The page I was on had Augustus Waters saying that very thing to Hazel Grace.

"I am," he said, reaching for my hand. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you."

I just stared at him. "Joey," I said.

"Well," he added with a laugh, "kinda wish Otto Frank was talking above us for us to kiss or something."

"Did you memorize that speech?" I asked.

"Yeah," Joey replied, grinning.

I grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him.

(JJ: HELL YEAH!!!!     Me: *head drops onto desktop*)

Joey was surprised for a minute, but then kissed me back. 

When we pulled apart, he asked me just one thing.

"Okay?"

"Okay."

Yugi: That was awesome!!!! *cue insane fangirl montage*

Me: *climbs up on top of the house to avoid fangirl swarm over Duke, Yugi and Seto* SEE YOU ALL NEXT TIME!

Duke: *surfaces from fangirl crowd* I'll see them too, right?
