Jaden Yuki X Reader (IDK on the number haha)

Jaden Yuki turned over in his bed, restlessly trying to get to sleep. It was almost impossible, thinking of a certain duelist.

He thought of the first day he'd met her.....

"Darn! Late to class again!" he exclaimed, running down the hallway. "Nothing new, but still!"

Crash!

He ran right into a duelist who was running in the opposite direction. Her books flew everywhere and landed on the floor.

"I'm so sorry!" Jaden said, rushing to catch some papers.

"It's fine, I'm not even close to being late," the girl's voice replied as she chased a paper.

Jaden handed her a stack of books and met her eyes for the first time. They were a stunning e/c and complimented her smile well. She blinked up at him and took her books back.

"Thank you so much! I was just running these to Sheppard's office." She smiled. "I'm Y/n. Y/n L/n. What's your name?"

"I'm Yuki Jaden! I mean Yaden Juki! Uh, Jaden. It's Jaden." He laughed, trying to blow off the awkwardness. She's so cute, he thought to himself.

Y/n smiled. "Okay, Yaden. I guess I'll see ya around!" She dashed off, waving over her shoulder.

Jaden blushed. "She doesn't think I'm an absolute moron! Yaaaaaaaay!" With that, he sprinted to class.

Jaden smiled at the memory. Y/n's face was awesome at that time, burning into his mind with a passion Jaden didn't know existed. He knew there were fun times ahead.....

"Kya! Jaden, easy!" Y/n shrieked as Jaden tackled her in the courtyard.

"Never!" Jaden exclaimed, laughing. He tickled her sides, causing her to giggle and writhe to try and break free.

Finally, he let up and sat up, leaning back into the grass. She flopped next to him and hugged his arm. "You're such a meanie, Jaden," she said, sticking her tongue out.

"Shush, Y/n. If you listen closely you can just about make out the sound of no one giving a hoot," Jaden joked. "Everyone needs a little Jaden magic in their lives!"

Y/n chuckled. "They sure do. Too bad you're all mine!" She tickled his stomach lightly, laughing as her best friend wriggled and laughed, trying to push her off. 

Jaden finally wrestled her off and sat up, holding onto her tightly. "I gotcha now!"

She snuggled into his chest, breathing heavily. "Yeah, you do."

"Hey, Y/n?" Jaden blurted. "I have a question."

Y/n's eyes moved to stare at his face. She smiled and cocked her head. "Okay, go ahead."

"Willyougoonadatewithme?" Jaden stuttered. Y/n, however, heard every word. She grinned and shoved his shoulder.

"Of course I will, you big goof."

Jaden exhaled lightly, happy that she just maybe liked him back? 

"Man, we both matured so much," Jaden said aloud. He thought back to the memory of their first kiss.

"Jaden, stop throwing chocolate everywhere!" Y/n exclaimed as she and Jaden tried in vain to whip up some frosting for the cupcakes that were probably burning.

Jaden grinned, not letting up. He had gotten chocolate all over the kitchen and was still not done. He dove at Y/n and tackled her, smearing chocolate all over her face.

Y/n retaliated by rubbing the sweet treat all over Jaden's face. She laughed as he spluttered and tried to stop her.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Jaden, I'll clean it up," she said, giggling. Before Jaden could comprehend what Y/n was doing, she had grabbed his face and kissed him.

On the mouth.

Jaden froze up and, unsure of what to do, set his hands on either side of her head so he wouldn't fall on her. He moved his mouth a little, trying to still breathe.

When they broke for air, Y/n held Jaden close. "You're a good kisser," she teased. Jaden blushed.

And then there was the day everything came crashing down.

Jaden sat in the waiting room, watching the door patiently. Y/n's annual checkup was going on and it was taking much longer than expected. However, he wasn't worried at all. Y/n had been healthy when she left the dorm this morning.

Finally, the door opened and Y/n stepped out into the waiting room. Jaden started to get up, but Y/n threw herself into his lap and burst into tears.

His eyes widened in shock. "Y/n! Are you okay?"

Her e/c eyes blinked twice, then filled with tears again.

"I'll take that as a no?" Jaden said, stroking her back.

Y/n looked up at him and whispered, "Jaden, I'm dying."

The room spun around Jaden. His greatest happiness in the world was..... dying? That wasn't possible. It couldn't be. Y/n was too strong for something like that.

"Miss Fontaine said that there wasn't anything she could do. She said it was something having to do with my lungs failing. I- I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE YOU!"

Jaden burst into tears and held her close. "Y/n, I don't want you to die!"

Both held onto each other tightly, crying.

Jesse knocked on the door. "Jaden? It's time."

Jaden rolled over and stood. "Do I have to do this?"

Jesse's face was a mask as he held out a clothing bag. Jaden unzipped it and pulled out a black suit. The tears flowed anew, reminding him of the fact that he had held her hand as she slipped away, kissed her to hold onto her last breath.
