You took a deep breath, slumping your shoulders as you stretched out your arms to the ground. "That was way too easy," Natasha announced, walking over to you. You nodded, "It's not right." Thor walked over, with something in his hands, "They said it won't be the last." Holding up a symbol engraved into a couple slabs. You hummed, one corner of your mouth tilting up. The symbol had a circle with a cross in the middle, lines going out of the circle, and at the bottom was a smaller one with a gap in the center. "What could that mean?" You wondered out loud, taking a slab from Thor's hand. Peering over your shoulder at it, Natasha shrugged, "Maybe it's one of those stupid 'they're brainwashing you' acts?" "I'm sure they would have said it out loud if they did," You replied, "To create awareness." She nodded. "Midgardians can be so strange..." Thor muttered, while Natasha laughed to agree.
After the short, easy, mission, the three of you decided to take a look around the new village. You asked if Natasha had been here before, but she shook her head, "I've never needed to, it's usually a quiet place."
Loki sat, hands on his laps, concentrating on every word the two said. "Why not do it quietly?" Banner wondered. "Quietly? Whoever got things done quietly needs some excitement in their life. Make a statement. A huge statement, reach to the skies and impress her," Tony raised his arms to the ceiling. Loki hummed with a nod, liking Tony's idea better. Banner hummed, moving over to the laptop. "Let's see what people think counts as an over-the-top proposal," Banner muttered, hitting enter. Finding a video or two, the spun the laptop towards Loki and he watched.
After, Loki muttered, "She would realise what we're planning with these immediately..." "There's no way," Tony chuckled. "When we were kids, myself and mother tried planning a way of celebrating one of her birthdays. We had a lesson a couple hours later and she guessed it. She guessed it every time without fail. Even when we planned in early in the morning..." Tony looked at Banner, almost concerned. "Well, how about you rush her out and make a huge statement suddenly, before she had time to think, and put the ring on her?" Banner asked. "Doesn't it take days to get the ring?" Loki wondered. "I'll get someone over in 15 minutes," Tony stood up, now making a phone call. Loki blinked as he stood on the other side of the room, chatting, then looked to Banner. "Will this work?" He nodded, "I'm sure."
"What's going on? Where is everyone?" Steve asked, walking in; looking at Tony, who was still talking over the phone. "Loki's planning to propose," Banner said, "Tony's calling someone about the ring. Natasha, Thor and Y/N are on a mission." "Oh, right, the two of you aren't married," He mumbled, "How is it going so far?" "Good. I'm going to do it quickly so she doesn't figure it out," He briefly explained. Steve guessed that the two of you had spoken about it and Tony joined the conversation.
"They're on their way," He said, "We're going to have to be quick, they had to squeeze us in." "Thank you," Loki said, a smile barely on his lips. As soon as they arrived, Tony brang them up and they started to talk.
"Maybe he'll do it in a few days?" Natasha guessed. You hummed and nodded. "Loki does like to go big with what he does," Thor added, lifting a lava lamp and looking at it strangely. "Say, Y/N," Thor wondered staring up for a moment before coming back down to look at you, "Didn't you guess all of the surprises he and mother planned when we were kids?" You smiled widely, with a nod, "I think it irritated him slightly so he always tried to catch me out. It never happened with big surprises though; with small ones he succeeded. But, Loki is Loki, he wants to do the biggest and the best." The three of you chuckled.
"I appreciate this," Loki said to Tony. "It's about time. And wow, you should have seen her while you were locked away or whatever," He started, "Well, at the start of it. Later she learnt to hide it away, though I'm sure I had heard her cry a couple times when we were all supposed to be alseep. I tried to cheer her up the next day, and obviously perfecting the ability of not making it obvious. I'm not sure whether it worked or not, but she always thanked me for the laughs after," Tony shrugged. "It was pretty bad at the start," Bruce repeated, with a saddened nod, "We couldn't trust her properly yet but I always, well... felt a little bad for her. It was nice to see her smiling widely everyday after you returned."
"Thank you for that," Steve added, standing by the door; clearly put off from the memories. Loki turned, with an expressionless face, hiding his anxiety for later, "Oh?" "Steve!" Tony suddenly blurted out, "You just reminded me, I need you for something I'm planning." With that, he stood up and rush out with Steve.
Loki hummed to himself. "I'm sure you already know," Bruce stated plainly, with a little sigh, looking at the door they left through. "Yeah..." Loki muttered, unamused.
