Natasha nodded, "exactly." Fury looked over to you and you explained the situation. He didn't seem very impressed. "I'll get back to you in 10 minutes." The screen turned black and you and Natasha turned to eachother. "Do you think it went well?" You wondered, an eyebrow raised. She shrugged, "I'll call you when he's back, you can go." You nodded with a smile and left.
Loki looked at you. "Maybe," You answered. He nodded and walked over; you were soon engulfed in his warm embrace. Resting your head on him, you smiled softly and loosely put your arms around him.
"What is it?" You muttered. "Nothing." You doubtfully hummed. "Really," he said, "I just wanted to hug you." "You scare me when you do that," You admitted. "Sorry," He kissed the top of your head and propped his cheek against it. While you were feeling his love, you felt the worry spread across you like a forest fire.
Lifting his head, he took one hand and pushed back your hair, causing you to look up to him. You smiled to him. Chuckling for a second, while examining your face, he called you precious. You realised that he wanted to say more, almost as if he wanted to yell how he felt, but he didn't. He just stared into your eyes and sighed.
Loki felt goosebumps rush across his body as he stared at you. Smiling faintly, his eyes just relaxed. His thoughts ran through a couple highlights of his life, each one including you. He stopped his urge to spill everything and just hugged you again — shoulders up.
"Loki!" He heard you call out, across the bed. "Yes?" He answered, looking up. "How is this?" You asked him, holding up a sketch. He silently blinked for a moment, "Is that me?" You nodded shyly, suddenly disheartened,"Is it bad?" He shook his head, "This is my favourite portrait. I like it better than all of the artists mother and father call in for myself and Thor." He watched you blush, with a giggle, "Thank you." "It's not finished, is it?" He asked. You shook your head, "Not yet, I almost am though!" "Can you give it me when you are?" "You want to keep it?" You asked, shocked by the request. "Of course," He smiled faintly and you nodded.
He heard someone call his name. With a hum, he turned. "Y/N? What is it?" He wondered. Grabbing his arm, you dragged him to the side, "Here." You handed him a little bag. "What is it?" He looked down to the bag, in his hands. A brown little bag, with a pulled drawstring. Gesturing for him to open it, he did. A little puff of smoke escaped as the bag opened up wider. "What—? Y/N?! Are these rings?" He asked with a shocked whisper. You nodded, "I know you've wanted some gold rings recently, to go with your outfit, so I got a few for you. Well- and a book, but it didn't fit. Happy birthday." You gave him the book and you hugged him tightly, his eyebrows raised and he hugged back with a huge smile. "Thank you, Y/N," He muttered. "Frigga also wants to see you later in her room," You told him. "For?" You shrugged in response, with an awkward laugh, "I'm only the messenger." He smirked, "Liar." You both chuckled for a moment and he nodded, face falling straight again before you both parted ways once again, "Alright. Thank you again."
"I'm sorry All-father," Your head was down, towards the ground. "And what about you, Loki?" He wondered. "I couldn't possibly have an idea to what you are asking, father," He answered, eyebrows high, eyes almost closed. "Loki!" He growled. Nudging him slightly, you urged him to apologise. With a sigh, "Fine, I'm sorry." Unfortunately, the way he had done it caused Odin to tick. Yelling out the punishment, Loki heard you say: "All-father, if I may speak, I do think I should take part of the punishment." "Why? You are just with him, you are not him." "Yes, true, however I helped. I do feel guilty for letting Loki take it all upon himself if it wasn't all him," You replied. "Father—" Loki tried to say, trying to stop you from lying. "Loki!" Odin growled again, causing him to stop speaking. "I believe you Y/N, a brave young girl like you wouldn't lie and if that is how it was," He said before recalling out the punishment, half to you and the other to Loki. After, he whispered angrily to you, "Why did you do that?" "Because the punishment was so harsh, I couldn't stand there and hear it all go to you for a small prank, Loki," You explained, "Do not worry. It'll be alright." Smiling softly to him, the two of the prepared before the punishment began in a couple of hours.
"He's back," You heard Natasha, suddenly. With a huff, you pressed the earpiece and told her you'd be right there. "Fury's back," You told him, as the two of you let go of eachother. As you were about to walk away, you stopped and smiled. Turning around, you held his shoulders and kissed him quickly. He smirked, slightly shyly, and told you to go as his cheeks gradually turned a blush pink. You chuckled to yourself and headed out, back over to the two.
"You won't be able to stay the couple days you requested. However, I will allow you to go for the funeral," He revealed. You hummed, finding the situation awkward, "Alright. Thank you." You quickly answered, knowing he probably - well, maybe - tried his best. Natasha raised her eyebrows at the sudden response but nodded alongside you.
Without another word, he left. You sighed, "This is going to be awkward." She nodded once again. "We'll have to let them go the couple days before then leave on the last day; bringing them back with us. You hummed, agreeing. "I'll let them know," You told her, getting up off of your seat. "I'll let Tony know, you tell your two," she smirked before leaving. Laughing a bit at her silliness, you decided to walk over in a quiet corner in the kitchen. Ignoring Clint and Steve for a moment you made the call.
"Oh, I see," He muttered, over the phone. You hummed, "It's fine though, you three will still be able to go, we'll just be arriving later." "I understand. I wouldn't argue though, the offer alone was a lot, thank you all again, and especially you Y/N." You smiled, "You're welcome." After a couple of bye's, you hung up and watched the silently loud tension surrounding the other two.
Steve sat at the table, drinking something, while Clint stood at a counter top. You sighed. It had been weeks and two refused to even look at eachother. Whatever their disagreement was, it wasn't good. Not at all. But, you couldn't take the obvious tension. "Guys," You called out to them. When they both looked over, you asked, looking to one then the other, "Will you both please just speak? Fix things?" "Some things in life just aren't acceptable, Y/N," Clint responded, eyebrows raised. You hummed, seeing his point, but still looked hopefully to Steve. "Sorry, Y/N," He muttered, smiling with a hint of guilt.
Nodding, you decided to just leave it there and walk back to your room to tell Loki about the trip to England. You had hoped for some time to take a look around too, but since it wasn't something you could afford to do due to the job, you chose to just let it be.
"Hey-" You smiled, seeing Loki sitting on the bed while Abigail tried to read to him. Loki smiled to you, but Abigail didn't notice that you had arrived — she was too busy trying to read some of the words. After listening for a while, you clapped, "Well done." "Mum!" Abigail gasped, shocked and shy. You chuckled, "That was beautiful." "Really?" She smiled behind the book. You nodded and she giggled, thanking you. "Do I read better than dad?" She wondered. "Ah! I think you could do a little better, but right now, your father holds first place," you smiled, then whispered, "if you keep reading you'll probably beat him though!" She laughed, "heheh! I'm coming for number one dad!" Loki gasped.
After the little joke, you all settled down and you finally told them. Abigail pouted, "aw..." "Don't worry Abi, at least we will get to go for the main event. Right?" She nodded, "I guess so." "Let's be grateful we got that, Fury did not look happy with the request," You added.
Important A/N: I don't really like to do these unless I think it's completely necessary and stuff but I just wanted to let you all know that I am so grateful that you're enjoying this book.
