(This is my Newsies OC backstory-
I'm still working on it-
Constructive criticism is appreciated-)Benjamin was born into a family that consisted of his mom,Charlotte, and his dad, William. the family ran a animal shelter, leading to Benjamin's love for animals and his fur allergy. He lived a happy life for a couple years of his life, until his family ran out of money and couldn't afford the animal shelter or support to take care of Benjamin. They lost the shelter, and Benjamin had to go to a orphanage. Before he went, his Charlotte gave him a Wrench so he could remember his family by. Benjamin never saw them again after that, and he was only three. Benjamin lived in the orphanage until he was thirteen, where some of the workers there were neglectful of some of the kids. Benjamin was one of the kids that was neglected most of the time, leading to his nosiness that he has today. Benjamin also had to look after some of the neglected kids too, as well as developing a hobby of fixing stuff when he was six. All of this happened until he was thirteen, where he was outside on a warm spring day, playing with some of the neglected kids when he noticed a couple Manhattan newsies. Benjamin got curious and asked who were those people out loud. A older kid said that they were newsies, and they live a bad lifestyle, warning Benjamin to stay away. He looked at the newsies, and thought that the lifestyle that the newsies had would be better than the one that he had right now-being accepted rather than rejected-, so, when everyone went back inside the orphanage, he stayed out, holding onto his lucky Wrench as he watched them curiously until someone dragged him back inside the orphanage. This happened for a few days: whenever he saw a Manhattan newsie, he would look at it curiously before someone that didn't neglect him in the orphanage would drag him away. One day, he snuck out of the orphanage, eventually becoming a newsie and getting his newsie nickname based on how he likes to fix things and that he carries his wrench wherever he goes.
...whatdya think? Is it too Gary stuish or cliche? And like I said, I'm still working on it-
