Scenario: Reader-Chan is the top cadet. She's so good that she recently qualified to take a test to see if she should be promoted in rank; however she receives devastating news. What happens when Levi hears about the news and worries about what Reader-Chan will do to herself?
Warning: Language and although Reader-Chan is not suicidal in the story, Levi believes she might be (it's for the plot shhh).
{Levi's Point of View}
Ah. Night time. The only time where I don't have to listen to annoying brats I call cadets. The time where I can truly enjoy some hot tea and... my thoughts came to a pause as I walked into the mess hall and noticed the door was open. Did someone not close it earlier or was someone outside? Everyone should be asleep so who the hell could it have been?
I sighed as I made my way towards the door knowing no one should be up and if they were, as Captain, I would have to punish them. Upon peeking out the door I immediately recognize me who it was. Cadet (your last name). The top cadet here at HQ. If I remember correctly, she actually just recently completely qualified to be promoted.
I watched her as she looked up at the dark sky. It was suppose to rain tonight and you could already hear soft rumbles of thunder and feel small pecks of rain.
I liked cadet (your name). She was smart, pretty, and skilled. She was also the only cadet who wasn't annoy, could clean, and make tea well.
I walked outside deciding I would try to make conversation instead of just yelling at her. "Shouldn't all cadets be in bed by now?"
"Captain." She called me by my rank so calmly as if we were the same rank and she wasn't a cadet. She had glanced at me as she did so as well.
"Don't call me as if you're the same rank as me or above me. I'm your Captain so at least speak my rank with a little more respect." I took a seat beside her as she was sitting on a bench.
"My apologies. You're right." She stood up. "After all, I'll never be promoted anyway."
"What are you talking about?"
"You mean you haven't heard? In that case, go ask Erwin yourself when the morning comes."
Before I was given the chance to say anything else she walked away towards the stalls. I was going to stop her but my mind was filled with confusion over what she said. What did she mean she would never get promoted? What did Erwin do?
~~~
"Oi! Erwin." I slapped my hand on Erwin's desk.
"It's not like you to visit me this early in the morning or address me by my name. To what do I owe this pleasure?"
"Don't act so innocent. What's this thing about (your name) never getting promoted?"
"You called her by her first name. I wasn't aware you guys were on a first name basis."
"Tch. Answer the damn question. I know for a fact there is no way in hell she didn't past the test to be promoted."
"You're right." Erwin looked up at me as he intertwined his fingers together. "She passed with flying colors, but I don't see a need to promote her. We have enough higher ups as it is."
"Damn it Erwin. That's a bunch of bullshit and you know it. Why the hell would you have her take the damn test if you couldn't promote her anyway?"
"She'll get over it. What's the worse that can happen?"
"She could kill herself, that's what."
"And why do you believe that?" Erwin stood up and looked at his office window, which just so happened to look at the stables. Actually, I didn't have a reason to think that. "You don't have a reason to believe that and that's why you're quite." Erwin commented. "Seems as though she's leaving for the night."
"For the night? She might as well leave forever due to your hard ass!"
I started to walk away but quickly my walking became jogging. I had to catch up with (your name). I had to talk to her.
~ ~ ~
"Oi!" I called out to (your name). "Can't you wait the fuck up!" I was struggling to keep with (your name) and her horse, but I somehow managed to do so regardless.
"What do you want?" We had to shout to be able to hear each other.
"Just slow down so I can talk to you!" Immediately, (Your name) horse came to a stop. I wasn't able to stop my own horse until I was already a couple of feet away. I turned my horse around and lined myself up with (your name). "Where the hell so you think you're going?"
She rolled her eyes. "Away."
"Away to where?" I was sure the anger in my voice was evident.
"I just needed some time to myself, Levi."
"Since when did you start saying my first name?"
"Well it seems as though no matter what I call you, you'll never satisfied."
"And do you think I'll be satisfied if you just leave the Survey Corps before I'm given the time to admit the fact that I have feelings for you?" (Your name) immediately turned her head and looked at me with shock. "Has it not been that obvious? Do you really think I would have gone to Erwin and asked what happened if I didn't care? Do you really think I would have chased after you, concerned for your health, if I didn't care?"
"I..." (Your name) couldn't find her words.
"I don't care what rank you are, though it is unfortunate that eyebrows in being as asshole about the whole situation. Would it be easier if you weren't my cadet and a Captain instead...maybe, maybe not. But none of that matters. Just come back. Don't leave alone like everyone else."
(Your name) looked back off the side and I could have sworn that I saw a small smirk tug at the corner of her lips. "What's the magic word?"
Is she serious?! You know what... fine. "Please. Come back with me...to me." She turned her horse around and started to ride back in the direction of HQ before pausing and looking back at me.
"Well, are you coming?"
I smiled... yes, smiled! "Whatever you say." I quickly caught up. "Does this mean you can return my feelings?"
She giggled adorable before gently pushing me a little of my horse. "Of course it does, silly. Now, let's go home."
