Believe in me

The next morning, I wrapped the thin blanket around my waist and went out into the storm looking for our dinner. I caught a wild rabbit and brought it inside the cabin, and prepared it for lunch. I found a few spices in the cabinet and was glad that todays meal will be more tasty than yesterday's. I swered the rabbit with a stick and held it over the flames. I threw more wood into the fire and it roared and crackled, cooking the rabbit until it was golden brown.

Bella smelled the aroma of the tasty rabbit and jumped out of bed.The blanket was still wrapped around her as she made her way and sat next to me.

"How much longer for the meat to be cooked?" she asked hungrilly.

"One more spin and it will be done." I told her gruffly, not able to look her in the face. I felt guilt in my heart thinking about last nights ordeal.

We both ate our meal in silence and drank the water from the snow I had brought in earlier and melted. The whole time I made sure not to make eye contact with her, the guilt made it easy for me to just look away.

"I want to go home!" she said flatly. "How long do you think we will be here for, and where exactly are we?" she asked with a worried look on her beautiful face.

"I do not know." I told her truthfully, and sighed. "What is your name?" I asked trying to change the subject.

"My name is Bella, what is yours?" she asked innocently.

"I am Christopher." I told her.

"Christopher, I want to go home!" she cried. "You took me without my permission, you don't even know where here is, and how is it possibhle that we stepped inside a mirror and found ourselves here?"

I looked at her angelic face and did not know how to answer her questions. Would she even believe if I tell her the truth?

"Cristopher what are you?" she asked.

"I am a Druid, and savior of the world, or at least I was savior of the world, but I may be stripped of that title now because I missbehaved." I mumbled.

Bella rolled her eyes and sighed. "Great, I am stuck in the middle of no where with a mad man!" she said, and her words hurt my feelings.

"Bella I speak the truth, I am who I say I am!" I said, even though I knew she will never believe me.

"Prove it then, a savior would have magic powers. Show me your talents." she said.

I sighed and looked away from her. "The twelve Council stripped me of my powers because I slept with a witch." I told her, and almost laughed at myself. My words sounded silly to me, I cant even imagine how they sounded to her.

Bella jumped off her seat, and with the blanket still wrapped around her, she grabbed her clothes and dressed herself. When she was done dressing she threw the blanket on the bed and marched to the door and whipped it open. Cold air blasted inside the cabin, and I thought that she would close the door and come back, but Bella started to run as fast as her feet could take her away from the cabin.

I panicked and quickly ran after her, dropping my blanket to the floor as I stepped out into the bitter cold. I had her in my arms within seconds and came back inside.

I set her down and said angrilly, "If you try something like that again, I will not come after you and you will freeze to death. It is fifty below zero out there!"

But Bella stood quietly without saying a word, and fixed her eyes below my waist. I followed her gaze and looked down and saw that I had forgotten to get dressed. I quickly turned around and grabbed my kilt and wrapped it around my waist.
