My husband dropped his head on my breasts and cried softly. I lay still, until his tears subsided. What happened to my strong and powerful warrior? Why was he showing signs of weakness? I laced my fingers in his thick mane of black hair and pulled his head up gently. His eyes sparkled with tears.
"My love, what ails you that your heart cry out with pain?" I asked him, hoping that he will be willing to share his agony with me.
"Elizabeth," he whispered,"There is something I want to tell you."
Alexander lifted his body off me and slid off the bed. Grabbing his kilt, he wrapped it around his tapered waist and walked over to the trunk that was in the corner of the room, and he opened it and pulled out a beautiful wine colored gown and gave it to me to put on. I pulled the gown over my head and down my body. My husband walked up to me and kissed my lips quickly and said,"Come sit with me, I need to have a serious talk with you."
He took my hand and escorted me to the chair by the window and I sat down and he pulled the other chair and sat oppsite me. I prepared myself to hear about the troubles that lay ahead of us, knowing that as long as I had my husband by my side, I could overcome anything.
"Elizabeth," he said, in a deep hoarse voice,"Very soon we will be in alot of trouble. Many will die and those that live will wish they had died, Isobel and the dark ones will come with a veagance."
"I am not afraid Alexander! I will fight next to you!" I told him passionately.
Alexander closed his eyes tight and dropped his face in his hands.
"Tell me everything Aleaxander, do not hold back from me!" I said, raising my voice to another level.
"When all hell breaks loose, I want you to go into hiding! I do not want you on the battle feild." he said sternly.
"No husband, I will not go away and leave you and Christopher to fight without me! I will stand by your side and fight like a warrior!" I told him angrilly.
My husbands face turned ashen, and I saw fear in his eyes as he looked at me. "Wife you will do as I command!" he barked. "I will not be able to concentrate on killing the dark ones if my mind is on your safety!"
"I will not do as you ask!" I yelled back at him stubornly.
And I watched my husband's angry face calm down, while he was deep in thought. He was thinking of a plan to keep me away from the battle feild, I was sure of it, but I will not abide by his wishes!
