A few hours later, as I was on my knees praying, the door crashed open and I turned around and saw James, crazy out of his mind, charge right at me. I quickly jumped to my feet and pulled out my small sword from my waist.
"Stop or I will use the sword." I hissed, waving the sword in his face.
James growled and attacked me anyway. He jumped on me full force, and I swayed backwards but quickly recovered my footing, and being the strongest of the two, I knocked him to the floor in less than a second.
"You selfish bastard! You almost killed her!" He yelled from the ground.
"Do you think I have not regretted it already?" I said, my voice sounded hoarse and hurt.
"Stay away from her!" he growled, and jumped to his feet in a warriors position.
I rolled my eyes and motioned for him to step asside, everyone knows that I could defeat him. My strength is that of a lion. No man has ever been able to match my stamina.
"You would do well lowering your voice, or I am going to throw you out of here, Elizabeth needs her rest. If you want to talk, yell or fight, step outside and do so, but not here."
I walked over to the door and motioned for him to exit the room, and he stomped out and I followed him.I saw two servant girls in the hall and ordered one to come in the room and watch over ELizabeth, and I told the other to fetch Mary.
I followed James down the stairs and he followed me to the private library, and I closed and locked the door as soon as we entered.
"As soon as Elizabeth heals, I am taking her to my home." He said with assurance. "You have hurt her one too many times and she deserves better!" and he was right, I could not argue this point.
"Yes I can see why you would feel this way. But I promise you that from this day forward, I will treat her the way she deserves to be treated, I will never hurt her again James, you have my word." I said in a low husky tone.
"Your word means nothing to me! She leaves with me as soon as she has healed and thats final!" He said in a dark and dangerous tone.
I tried to resist the urge to punch his face, but I composed myself, and with a firm and steady voice I said, "Elizabeth's home is here with me. I will not allow for her to leave."
James looked amused, "When Elizabeth wakes up, she will not want to stay with you, I know my daughter, she will leave you ALexander."
I stood rigid, my eyes were bright with anger, "Then let her decide on her own where she wants to stay. Do not coerce her."
James arched an eyebrow and cracked a smile, "It a deal, but you must respect whatever decision she makes!"
"Yes of course I will." I said uneasily.
James walked to the door and opened it, "You will lose Aleaxnder, prepare yourself." and with those words he stepped out in the hall and closed the door behind him.
And his words were like poison, that leaked into my heart and tore it to peices.
