I sighed and tried to not reveal my feelings, because father watched me like a hawk. The Twelve Council did tell me everything, and even if they hadn't, I know the past, present and future. The Symbolic event will be in two weeks from today. I do not have the heart to tell father that I know. How can I explain to him this tragic event? How can I tell him about the destruction that is about to unfold and where do I begin to explain the fate that awaits him and my loving mother.My heart tightened as I thought of that day that is to come.
I need to spend as much time as I can with them. I need to get to know them, and enjoy their company. I need to hold them in my arms and feel their heart beat against my heart. I want to know every little detail of how he met my mother, even though I know everything, I want to get the enjoyment of hearing it from their own lips.
I tried but I could not hold back the tears anymore. The wrenched sobs tore from my throat and I grabbed my father in my arms and squeezed him tight. My father was quiet as I held him, and once I let him go, I saw tears running down his face also.
"Son, when your mother and I go away, know that our spirit will always be with you. Infact, you can visit us anytime you wish in the spirit form." he told me in a cracked voice.
"Father, I will go to the Twelve Council and beg for your lives, do not worry, I will move Heaven and earth to keep you here!" I told him passionately.
"No son you will do no such thing. Your mother and I came to earth prematurely, they will not look kindly upon us. Son, they are punishing us because we loved each other too much. We have created our fate, and have no one to blame but ourselves." he said.
"Father, I will not let you and mother perish! I will go and demand to change your fate!" I told him.
"Son listen to me, you will do no such thing, do you hear me! changing the outcome of the future has consequences! You might be taken away and I will not let that happen!" he told me in an angry deep voice. "Further more, you are not to tell your mother any of this. I do not want to cause her any heartache, do your hear me boy?" his voice sounded firm and unwavering.
