At that moment the door burst open and James and Brendan walked in. James walked around the bed and faced me.
"Hello sweet heart." he said, with a smile curving his mouth.
Brendan came and stepped to the side of my father, and said in a husky tone, "Hello beautiful."
Alexander standing behind the two men, tightened his fists at his side, and gritted his teeth,trying to resist the urge to strangle the both of them.
"Hello," I said, throwing them a weak smile. "Father, can I come home with you?" I asked, getting straight to the point.
James smiled from ear to ear, "My home is your home, my love, of course you can come home with me. As soon as the healer says you are able to travel, I will take you with me."
Brendan stepped foward and kneeled down besides the bed, "Elizabeth, come with me now to my chambers, I will take good care of you and the healer is down the hall from me if we need him." he said.
ALexander growled.
James turned around and said in a deep voice, "A deal is a deal Alexander. You lost! She goes with Brendan until she is able to travel, and then she comes to my home."
I looked at Alexander, his face was ashen, his lips trembled.
Maybe going to Brendan's chamber will be a good idea for the time being. I can relax and think more clearly if I were away from ALexander for a while.
"Brendan, I accept your offer, please can I come with you now?" the sooner the better, delay will only make it harder for me. Alexander has a way to soften me up and I do not want to forget what he has done to me. He must pay, so he can learn from his mistakes. and maybe one day, soon I hope, when he earns his rights back into my life, I will move back in with him. Hopefully time will heal all wounds.
Brendans face lit up with a huge smile, he took my hands and pressed his lips on them, and said in a husky low tone, "Yes I will make arrangements with the servants to prepare for your coming. You wont regret this princess, I swear to you!"
And Alexander whirled around and smashed his hand on the table and broke it to peices.
"Check your behavior Alexander, or your actions will one day be the end of you. You are on the wrong path son, you are self destructive." my father said with a pleased look on his handsome face."We made a deal and you lost, now she will go to Brendans chambers until she is able to travel to come home to me." he said, looking very pleased at the outcome.
But without meaning to, my heart ached that I will no longer be with Alexander. Turning my heart to stone, to protect myself from pain, I said, "Give me a few minutes alone with ALexander, and come back for me in no more than ten minutes, please."
Brendan, rose with the grace of a prince, and both he and my father, walked away promising to come back and collect me in ten minutes.
Alexander said not one word as he watched them with hate in his eyes, exit the room.
As soon as they shut the door behind them, I galnced at Alexander, and he sat down on the chair next to the bed, looking defeated. He closed his eyes and dropped his head not saying a single word.
I did everything I could to hold back the sobs that threatened to spill forth. I love him, but he did me wrong and he must pay the price now. He needed to learn a lesson.
"It must be this way Alexander, I have to heal my wounds, and who knows what the future holds for us maybe one day we will find each other again." I said, proud of myself that I had the strength to mouth those words.
Alexander did not utter a single word. He remained silent and helpless.
The door opened and James and Bendan walked in to collect me. My father took me in his arms gently and walked away, and Brendan followed behind us. I heard the door to Alexanders chamber close, and my heart twisted with pain.
It was final. It is over and done with.
My tears spilled forth with passion and each sob tore my heart to peaces. My father held me closed to him and kissed my head, "Dont cry baby girl, papa is here, and loves you dearly. I promise you, I will never let anyone harm you ever again!"
