I slowly strolled up the steps of Camelot's grand palace, holding a basket of fruit for her ladyship, Queen Guinevere. Let me just say, the basket of fruit was quite heavy. I felt as though I was about to drop them, so I tried to be careful of carrying them.

I really wish I could use my magic to lessen the weight of it. Oops. Did I just say I have magic? Well I do. I have ever since I was young. My mother left me because she was ashamed of who I was, but my father raised me, not caring if I had magic. I traveled to Camelot in search of a new beginning, and soon found a job as the Queen's servant. It's my first day here as working for her, so I want to make a good impression.

I finally reached the top of the stairs and turned to the right when all of a sudden, someone crashed into me, making all the fruit spill out of my basket everywhere.

"Oh my goodness! I am so terribly sorry!" I exclaimed as I quickly started picking up the fruit.

"Oh please, it's not your fault! I should of been more careful of where I was going," said the man who bumped into me and was helping pick up the fruit.

I glanced up at the young man and the glance turned into a long look. I'd say, the young man was very handsome. Jet black hair, brilliant blue eyes, and cute monkey ears. His gaze soon found mine and I quickly looked down, continuing to pick up the fruit.

After we were finished, I stood up while he did the same. We stood awkwardly until he asked, "Have we ever met?"

"Um no I don't think so," I replied.

The boy nodded and put his hand out. "I'm Merlin. The servant of King Arthur," he said.

"Nice to meet you Merlin. I'm Savannah. Servant of Queen Guinevere," I replied and shook his hand. His long fingers were so lengthy compared to mine, though at the same time they fitted like a puzzle around mine.

"Oh wait...you're the new servant of her right?" he asked.

"You are looking at her right now."

"Well I'm glad they got rid of the other one because-"

"Merlin?!" a male voice proclaimed which sounded not too far away.

"Well I better be going. Arthur probably needs a face to punch," he remarked.

I laughed at his hilarious statement, while he chuckled.

When we stopped finally he said, "We should meet again Savannah. I enjoy your company."

"And I do too," I replied smiling.

"MERLIN?!"

"Well goodbye Savannah and wish me good luck," he said and started running down the hallway.

"Goodbye Merlin! And good luck!" I pronounced.

He waved his hand and turned the corner to Arthur's chamber. I giggled and shook my head as I headed down towards the Queen's bedroom.

A few hours later

I brushed the Queen's hair slowly as she chatted about her morning. I wasn't really listening to tell you the truth. Merlin was all that I was thinking right now. I really couldn't wait to see him again. He is just so...I have no clue. There is something about him that's different.

"Lady Savannah what do you think?" her ladyship asked.

"Oh excuse me my lady. What did you ask?" I asked feeling ashamed that I wasn't listening to her.

"Oh I was just asking you about the ball that Arthur and I are going to hold. What do you think?"

"I think it sounds quite grand, ma'am," I replied with a smile. Merlin popped into my mind again and thinking, maybe he could ask me to the ball and-
