"Last piece, Tony!" I exclaimed as I picked up my boyfriend's steel helmet for his suit.

"Wait!" he pronounced and put his hand up.

"I believe you're forgetting something, Gabriella" he added and raised his eyebrows.

Chuckling, I set the helmet down and took Tony's head into my hands. "Right, you're good luck charm."

Planting my lips on his, I gave him a fierce kiss before our journey. Tony was needed badly in a mission including me by his side. We were to shut down a program that could literally destroy an entire city by the push of a button. And this city was Chicago. Chicago was precious to me and it was my hometown. So I had asked S.H.I.E.L.D to join my boyfriend and they accepted.

After our kiss was over, I gave Tony smile and I said jokingly, "Now if we make it out alive, I swear we will have some Netflix and chill."

"And," his hand snaked around my waist tighter, "We get to watch what I want to watch?"

Laughing, I gave him a small peck and said, "Anything."

Giving him one last hug, we packed our things and headed out. Entering Tony's private plane, he took my hand and we flew off. Soon, we reached Chicago. Tony informed me that the bomb to blow up the city was in the basement of a rundown hospital.

After evacuating two miles of city, Tony and I quickly entered the hospital, armed and ready to fire for anything that comes out at us. The hospital gave an eerie vibe almost like it was haunted as the lights flickered and the walls were dirty.

I smirked as I came behind Tony and whispered boo. He made a small shriek and immediately turned around me. "Ella, we can have fun and games after work. But," he closed me up to the wall and pinned me, "We can do a few exceptions."

I bit my lip as pulled off Tony's helmet. His piercing, wild eyes stared me down and moments later, he kissed me roughly. Pulling his head towards my head more, his hands grabbed my waist and squeezed them. His mouth soon reached my neck and I started to laugh since my neck was my weakness. After a few minutes of this, he parted from me as I pouted my lip.

"Sorry, but we've got a city to save," he remarked and clicking back on his helmet, we left.

We soon reached a fork in our path. Looking at Tony with wondering eyes, he declared that we should split up. Nodding, I went to the left, but suddenly a metal grabbed my arm. My eyes peered towards Tony's now concerned ones. "You be careful, okay? Even though I can check your vital signs on my suit, I still want you to be careful."

I swallowed. Just thinking about him talking about my life like I was to die made me depressed and scared, something that I had never felt before.

"I love you," he stated.

I smiled. "Love you too, worry-wart."

He chuckled and started to leave, but quickly yelling his name, he came back. I looked at him seriously for the first time and declared, "Don't die on me today. You understand?"

Tony smiled. "Go. Don't worry about me."

Finally, we separated. With my flashlight up and gun beside me, I took breaths as I checked each room. Tony slipped onto my mind as I thought of his safety. My Iron Man meant to the world to me and even though to the world he was their superhero, he was mine and mine only. That sounded selfish, but I'd sacrifice anything for him to live.

Suddenly, I heard some scurrying. Turning around with my gun pointed, I clenched my jaw. Then a tight, furiously grip grabbed my arm. Screeching, I turned to my opponent and kicked him in the shin. A crack was heard as he let me go. Running as fast as I could, I contacted Tony to let him know what happened. Abruptly, two burly men came in view walking towards me with guns, but when I turned around to go the other way, two men were behind me as well.

"Tony, I'm surrounded," I said quietly.

"Ella, I'm headed your way. Don't do anything."

"But what if they attack?"

His connection was lost and I was left alone with these men.

"Kill her," said a man in front of me who had a gigantic scar across his eye. Loading their guns, they pointed them at me. Their bullets went off as I had just ducked in time to dodge them. Then came the attacks. Since I was advanced in martial arts, my skills kicked in. With punches here and there, I was beginning to win this battle. Until, my arm broke. Screaming in pain, I grabbed it.

Over and over again, punches and blow were hit on my beat up face.

Then a gun shot off. A shock and piercing pain came through my back. Crying, I fell to the ground. Touching my back, a warm liquid was felt and as I peered at my hand. Blood. My breathing suddenly became difficult and I began to gasp for breath.

"Finish her. She needs to be put out of her misery," said a man.

Tears streamed down my face as I realized there was no hope. My back was killing me, my lungs hurt and my head screamed in pain. Closing my eyes, I accepted my death with me falling in a blackout with hearing, "Don't you dare pull that trigger."

Later

Gasping for breath with my eyes open now, I noticed I was in my own bed. Sitting up, I gave deep breaths as I searched my eyes around for Tony. Trying to move my legs, I began to panic. Hyperventilating now, I yelled for Tony.

Feet were running up the stairs as Tony called my name out. I began to cry as Tony's face come worried.

"Ella, you're awake," he breathed. Tony looked awful as his eyes were dark and it looked like he hadn't showered in weeks.

"Tony, I can't f-feel my legs."

He burrowed his eyebrows and quickly came to my side, holding my hand. Kissing it, he asked, "What do you mean, you can't feel your legs."

"I can't feel them. I can't move them, Tony. I think I'm-I'm..."

"Shhh," he said as I burrowed my head into his neck and cried. With my stomach in a knot and my chest squeezed, Tony's comfort began to wither away my pain.

"We're gonna fix this, I promise," he continued.

"Tony-"

"You're gonna walk in no time."

"Tony, you can't fix this."

"I should of come sooner-"

"No, no," I took his face in my hands, "Don't bring this onto you, Tony. This isn't your fault. It's there's. You did everything you could and you saved me from death. And I thank you for that."

He smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "I love you so much."

Brushing his dark hair, I kissed it as I replied back to him, "I love you too."

Sighing, I smiled and then remembered something. "Don't we have some Netflix to watch?"

He raised his eyebrows. "Now?"

"Now."

Smiling, he chuckled. "Anything for you, Ella."

And though we failed our mission and I couldn't walk, I was happy because I had Tony. And Tony was all that I needed.
