Excruciating pain pierced through the side of my torso as I was carried in the Doctor's arms. And bumps in his strides didn't make the trip to the TARDIS better.
Even though he didn't know about my secret of being the last female Time Lady and the regeneration powers of it, I still kept silent. I couldn't tell him now and I definitely wasn't in the mood to tell him.
I don't know why I never told him during these past months. I always waited for the right moment, but being caught up in adventures, I never found that moment. And when I did, I was too afraid. In fact, I didn't know what I was afraid of. He would be joyous, excited, amazed that he wasn't the only one. Maybe I was afraid because I force to put him into a position where he could be uncomfortable, since I am the last female Time Lady and well, he's a male. It could mean for the Gallifryian line to continue.
Even with the feelings that I had for him, I didn't want to place pressure on him. And I didn't know how he felt about me.
"Don't quit on me, Skylar," he huffed as he continued to run. Fear yet determination were sparking inside his eyes, praying that he would be able to save me.
I found myself softly chuckling for some odd reason. Maybe it was the way he was reacting. Or how he was so desperate to save me, but I knew inside I would be perfectly fine.
"Doctor-"
"Shh, I'm-almost-"
Using his foot, he barged open the TARDIS doors. Rushing inside, the Doctor paused for a moment and ran up the stairs. Whipping through halls and turns, we entered a medical room and laying me down, the Doctor sprinted to a cabinet.
"I didn't know you had medical room," I stated, trying to make this whole situation a little lighter than it really was.
"Well, it's for situations for like these."
Pulling out some medical equipment, I winced from the pain as I watched the Doctor. Despite I didn't normally like people taking care of me, I knew there was nothing I could do at this point. My two hearts pounded hard when I saw the Doctor pull out a needle with some stuff in it.
"TARDIS, begin an x-ray," he said aloud, making my heart freeze and my head lightheaded. Or maybe that was just the lost of blood.
"Doctor, I think," I groaned, "I think that's pretty unnecess--"
And within moment, I was out.
Hours Later
The sound of a steady beeping echoed throughout the room. Finally opening my eyes, I moaned slightly and turning my head, I noticed the IV stuck inside my arm and bandage around my bare torso, bringing color to my cheeks.
There was no Doctor in sight, so I yelled out his name, but I had no response. Leaving me with no choice, my bare feet carefully touched the cold, stone floor. Weakly, I grabbed my black shirt and pulled it over me. Clutching the walls, I began my way down to the consul to find the Doctor.
"Doctor!" I yelled.
I knew I shouldn't be out, but I just needed to see him. Let him know I was fine. And suddenly, I remembered.
He knows, I thought. He knows who I really am.
As fast as I could which was the speed of a two year old, I traveled down the halls of the TARDIS and eventually, I reached the consul, seeing the Doctor leaning against the TARDIS faced away from me. I could sense disappointment in the air and anger. Beside his hand was the x-ray of two hearts.
Grasping the stairs, I slowly came down to him. And when I was on level with him, I stood and said, "Doctor-"
"Why didn't you tell me, Skylar?"
