I sprinted down the corridor of Hogwarts holding my books close to my chest for my Divination class. I knew I would be late for this class, I just knew it. I shuved people out of my way, but of course I apologized.
I burst into class out of breath and froze there for a moment. Of course everyone in Slytherin, the house I was chosen, stared at me including the teacher, Professor Trelawney with her googly eye glasses.
"Miss Oliver, you are late. Again," she remarked looking at me like she staring into my soul.
"I'm sorry Professor. I promise it won't happen again," I apologized.
"Take a seat please," she offered with her showing her hand towards the crowd of students.
I observed all the seats trying to find an empty seat. My eyes found one. Right next Draco Malfoy, my crush. His gray blue eyes met my gaze and his gaze became a stare. I could feel my body burning as I started walking slowly up the stairs towards him. I could sense that he was still staring at me, which was kinda creepy but yet amazing at the same time.
I took my seat next to him, and gave him a small hello. I don't think he was looking at me anymore because he had his face turned away from me when he said hello back. Rude, but I still liked him.
We were attentive to Professor Trelawney's teaching about the future and the gift of seeing it. As she continued blabbing and making exaggerating hand motions, I heard Draco say,"Nice hair today Zoe."
I glanced at my sleek black hair with a green strip in it.
"Thanks," I replied. Wow, he just complemented my hair. That's awesome! Ok not to sound selfish, but I get that a lot. Most boys in Slytherin complement it or just say I'm so beautiful and to tell you the truth it gets annoying. But having your crush say it, gah! it's amazing!
A gasp from the professor woke me up from my thoughts. I saw that her creepy eye glasses were looking straight at me. She pointed at me and told me to come down. I gave her a confused look as I started walking slowly down the steps towards her. As soon as I reached her, Trelawney grabbed my hand and looked at my palm.
"Amazing," she murmured as she traced her hand along my palm.
"I'm not the only Seer in this class, am I?" she whispered and looked at me. My body was paralyzed by fear. I never wanted anyone to know I was a Seer. I didn't like being a Seer because I didn't want to see the future. I already predicted that something horrid would happen to Hogwarts and it did! Voldemort came with his Death Eaters and destroyed it. But here I am now in Hogwarts that is now rebuilt standing here feeling mortified.
"Oh my! Tisk tisk. You speak snake too just like that Potter boy," she mentioned. That's when I really wanted to leave. I had been speaking snake ever since I was young. My parents were ashamed of it and were sometimes afraid of me because of it.
"Darling?" asked Trelawney looking at me strangely. I gulped and took a deep breath waiting for something to horrible to happen.
Finally she let go of my hand and pronounced, "Class whoever you were sitting with will be your partner for your assignment I assigned you with. Class dismissed." Her eyes were still on me when she finished that. I quickly ran up the stairs and accidently pumped into someone spilling all of their books. Draco.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed as I picked up the leather bounded books from the steps. Draco helped me pick some of them. After picking them up, we stood up and I handed him the books.
"Sorry again," I remarked and pushed a strain of hair behind my ears.
"It's alright. Just an accident," he replied with surprisingly a smile on his face. He never smiles.
"Thanks," I said and walked up the steps to grab my books. I soon exited the classrom and entered the vast corridors of Hogwarts.
"Hey wait, Zoe!" I heard I turned around and saw Draco fast-walking towards me.
"Hello again Draco," I said.
"Hi Zoe," he said back.
Awkward silence.
"So I was wondering if after your last class, if we could study our Divination project in the Syletherin common room," he stated.
"Of course!" I said beeming with joy. Now I can't wait for my last class to end.
"Well I'll see you later," I remarked and started walking away.
"Wait Zoe, uh could I walk you to your class?" he asked.
"Um sure!"
He walked by my side and we chit-chatted for a bit. We soon reached my class of Potions and I said farewell to Draco. He started walkling away then all of a sudden, a vision came to me. A huge ball came crasging through a window where Draco was standing. The ball hit his head and blood shot out everywhere. Back to reality, he was about to walk in front of the window.
"Draco!" I yelled and pushed him down while I was on top of him. Just as I saw, a quidditch ball came crashing through the window, having shattering glass everywhere, while the ball was just zipping above our heads.
Everyone gasped at my herioc endeavor. I slowly went off Draco and gave him my hand to take. He took it and came up. When Draco stood up, his face came so close to mine. I could feel his hot breath on my face. He unfortunately stepped away and asked, "How did you see that?"
I was silent for a while until I said,"Um well hey I gotta go, but I'll see you later in the common room ok?"
He nodded and walked away. I entered my class feeling like I made Draco angry for not telling him the real truth.
A few hours later...
I strolled down to the common after I finish my class of Defence of the Dark Arts. I heard some boys snirkering at me mentioning I had a nice butt. I escaped a small groan and opened the door to the Slyertherin common room.
I saw Draco sitting on a couch in front a fire reading a book about Divination.
"Hey sorry I'm late," I said as I plumped on the couch next to him.
"It's alright. Should we start studying?" he offered.
"Sure," I replied.
He brought forth the book towards me, so that I could read it with him too. I scooted next to him a bit more for me to read. Our legs were touching, which gave me butterflies in my stomach. Our heads were so close together that I could hear his steady breathing. He smelled so wonderful too like fresh cotton with a tint of mint. I wasn't even studying the book, I was studying him. I soon turned my head towards him a bit. Draco noticed and slowly turned his head towards mine too. His gray-blue eyes looked right into my soul.
His eyes weren't observing my eyes anymore. They were glancing up and down at my lips. He smirked, while I smiled. We leaned, and placed his lips on mine. The sparks bursted forward, which made me hold his head and feel through his hair. Draco's long, slender hands wrapped like a snake around my slender body.
We sadly broke and again just stared into each other's eyes.
"You have probably heard this so many times, but you are absolutely stunning," he whispered while beeming.
I smiled and placed my hand on his cheek.
"Thank you. But your completment matters to me, because out of of all of the other boys who I don't like who have called me pretty, yours is the most important and treasured on. Because I...I..."
"I love you, Zoe," cutted Draco.
"I love you too Draco. And that's why you are so special to me," I stated.
His arm wrapped around my body and brought me closer to him while I did the same. I leaned my head on his chest and heard his heart pound like crazy. We sat in front of the fire, not worrying about studying or anything like that, just focusing on us.
