"Goodness, Shannon, I can't believe how pathetic you are," stated Malfoy as he left our history class on wizards before I could say anything rudely back to him.

Clenching my jaw, I stuffed the speech that I had written on Dumbledore. It didn't go as well as I planned with me receiving a low score for it, while Draco had a perfect one. Grabbing my bag, I exited class and went into the library to study for our next paper.

Plopping onto a chair with a desk, I had a stack of ten books next to me to search about the Dark Arts. Opening one of them, I started to read and take notes.

I thought back about Draco and his rudeness at me for two years. In my first years of Hogwarts, he completely ignored me. But something happened. It changed when a ball came and everyone thought I was stunning, except for Draco. He told me I was an ugly rat who was trying to be pretty, but just made itself worse. I came with a good comeback, asking him if he was so glorious, then why was he talking to me.

That shooed him off, but the big fat stuck-up bully came back for the rest of the years.

Speaking of the devil, in came Draco and his misfits with him into the library. Quickly looking down, I hoped he would't see me. Bringing up the book I was reading like a shield, my head was covered. Or was it?

A hand grabbed the book I was reading and slammed it on the table. Draco's icy eyes stared me down as I pierced my lips.

"Found you," he said quietly with a smirk.

"Leave me alone, Malfoy."

He chuckled. "But you're so fun to play with, Shannon. You're my chew toy, you puny warthog."

His friends laughed at his not-so-funny joke.

"Looks like mommy and daddy raised a lousy scumbag since you're wasting your time on picking on me," I snapped.

"I think you're the lousy scumbag if I remember," Draco said. His eyes suddenly saw the stack of books and instantly bumped it off the desk.

"Pick them up," he demanded.

"Excuse me?"

"I said, pick them up or I'm telling Dumbledore about you stealing books from the restricted section."

"Ha, what kind of threat is that?"

"A threat that could kick you out of this school."

I glared at him. I knew I had lost this battle, so reluctantly I picked up the books.

"Faster, Shannon," demanded Draco.

I disobeyed him and of course that led to another damaging action, which was pushing me with his foot. I hit the bottom of the desk and some of the leftover books fell on top of me. One went straight to my head, which made gash to it.

That crossed the line.

Anger boiled inside me and slowly standing up, Draco shut up his laughing. Hurt was in my eyes and stated quietly, "Draco, go and pick someone you're size. Or wait, I forgot. You don't have anyone you're size because you're a filthy, little warthog, who thinks they can destroy everyone's life in the palm of your hand."

I became silent for a while. Then I yelled, "You are not the headmaster of this school, Malfoy, nor will you ever be!"

And I left him in shock. I smirked. It felt good that I had now beaten Draco up real good. I had won that battle.

Later

"Hi," I heard a voice say.

Quickly turning around, Draco's face appeared in the library as I was opening a book. A day had past since that victorious battle I had won over with Draco and I was still salty at him.

"Go away. I'm so done with your-"

"I'm not here to pick on you."

Giving him a confused look, I stated, "Wow. Change of heart?"

Expecting him to say something mean, he surprised me by declaring, "Something like that."

He came closer to me and something kept telling me to stay put, see what happens. His hand trailed the bookcase while his eyes were still on mine. I admit it was kinda creepy, yet very hot.

"Draco, what's going on?"

"Shannon, I love you."

Excuse me?

"What?"

"Shannon, I've had these feelings since the day I met you and-"

"Malfoy, you have beat me up since the day you met me. Why are you telling me this now and if you love me-"

He suddenly came in for a quick kiss and giving him a disgusted look, I pushed him away.

"What the frick are you doing?" I exclaimed, feeling mad about this.

"I was just-"

"Never mind. You don't have to explain yourself." And I fled out of the library and as soon as I exited, guilt consumed me as I realized I had just embarrassed the boy.

He deserves it after what he has done to me, I thought.

Sprinting to my chamber, I flung myself on my bed and took a deep breath. What is wrong with this boy? What do you mean he's liked, well more loved me since the day we met? I don't understand.

For the first time, I suddenly felt bad for Draco. He probably felt bad for what had happened yesterday and it probably took a lot of courage to tell me how he felt. My heart skipped a beat just thinking that Malfoy had something on me.

My want for him and love for Draco slowly started to bloom. I had pushed down these feelings so much that I thought I had none. And when I felt them, I pushed them down deep into me. Hatred and anger had filled me up so much that I was blinded by it.

Suddenly sitting up, I dashed out of my chamber and ran towards the library. The corridors were surprisingly empty as I ran swiftly down.

"Shannon?" asked a voice.

Instantly stopping, I turned around to see Draco coming out of a room. Giving me a questioning look, he asked, "What are you doing?"

Quickly running to him, I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly. Draco's arm in return gave me a loving squeeze as I said, "I've been so blind, Draco."

Parting but still in our arms, Draco looked at me. "Shannon, I'm so sorry for how I have acted around you. I was unsure how to express my feelings towards you and I couldn't accept them. Until yesterday, I realized that I did. I-"

"Shh," I said as my hand touched his cheek, caressing it. "I'm sorry too about how I have treated you all these years. And embarrassing you in the library today? That was my fault. Will you forgive me?"

Draco smirked. "I'll forgive you with that unfinished kiss we are to have in the library."

I chuckled. "Of course. How could I forget?"

Planting my mouth on his, his hands squeezed my back as my hand wrapped around the back of his neck. The kiss was perfect just how I imagined it. Hot, but sweet.

Separating, Draco breathed with his gray eyes glistening said, "I forgive you, Shannon."

I smiled and went in for another kiss.
