Karry's POV
It was my fifth time knocking on Yanxi's door, calling out her name, but there wasn't any response. After another 10 minutes, I finally gave up and decided to call her with my phone. I widened my eyes when I heard her phone's ringtone, ringing from inside. But a second later, it was off.
Yanxi was definitely inside, she just didn't want to see me at all. I sighed and knocked on her door softly this time.
"Yanxi, you're there right?" I asked. "I'm sorry, I'm truly sorry about everything. I've found out about the real incident from Roy. Please, please give me a chance to explain and say sorry properly to you."
No reply.
"Yanxi, please, I'm begging you."
There was still no response. So I slid down to the floor and patiently waited for her to open the door for me.
---
Three hours, three hours I've been waiting but Yanxi hasn't opened her door yet. The sky was starting to get dark and cloudy, and soon, I could hear the droplets of water falling onto the ground. The rain was getting bigger and bigger each second, and I was freezing to death. It was so cold, and I was only wearing a thin piece of shirt without any jacket on me.
I curled up to warm my body up when suddenly I heard the door opened. I shot my head up and saw Yanxi staring down at me, still with her teary eyes and red nose. I immediately stood up and smiled. "Ya-- yanxi?"
She sighed. "Karry, it's been three hours and it's freaking raining now, and you're still out here waiting for me?"
"I--I need to a--apologize properly t--to you," I shivered as I gritted my teeth.
Seeing me in this state, her face softened. "Come in first, I'll make hot chocolate for you."
I smiled in satisfaction and stepped inside after taking my shoes off, instantly forgetting about my condition. I sat on the sofa in her living room and she head to the kitchen. After around five minutes, she was back with a cute pink mug on her hand which soon being handed to me.
"Thank you," I smiled sincerely and drank the hot chocolate instantly to warm myself.
I looked at Yanxi. Her hair was so messy, her eyes were puffy and red, and her nose was still red too. She was definitely crying so much.
I put the mug on the coffee table and positioned myself to talk to her.
"Can I explain now?" I asked her carefully, and she nodded.
I took a deep breath and started talking. "Roy explained to me just now, every single thing that happened. I'm sorry, I truly am. I feel so bad right now that I feel like killing myself. I scolded you, I yelled at you, I hurt you, for nothing bad you did."
"I love you, Yanxi, more than you could ever know. You're the only girl that can make me feel like this, the only girl that can understand me despite all my family problems. I'm being serious and sincere right now," I told her, staring into her eyes deeply. "I realized that I really miss your presence and your attitude when I was with Peixun. Trust me, there's not a single moment when I didn't think of you, Yanxi."
She looked like she was about to say something but she suddenly burst into tears again. I was startled by her sudden reaction and pulled her into a hug. I didn't do anything beside patting her back gently as she hid her face in the crook of my neck, making it wet.
After she calmed down, we broke the hug and she looked at me. "I thought you hated me, I thought you would never talk to me anymore. I know I'm extremely dumb to ever think about this but for a moment I thought you really accepted Peixun and really liked her."
