Chapter 24

Yanxi's POV

"Where are you?! I'll go there now!" I shouted, my hands were trembling.

"I'm in my house, I'll send you the address," he replied weakly.

I ended the call the moment he sent me the address. I took my plain white shirt and a random shorts. My body was still wet, including my hair. I ran out of my house and searched for his house.

I didn't care. I didn't know about these mix feelings I was having but right now, the most important thing was.. him.

Thankfully his house wasn't far from mine. After around five minutes, I found his house. The door was slightly opened and I barged in.

"Karry!" I shouted.

No reply

"Karry! Where are you?!" I shouted again.

No reply.

My hands were sweating. I was worried if he already fainted because of losing too much blood.

But then suddenly I felt someone wrapping their arms around my waist from the back, making me jumped in fear. I screamed a little before turning my back, only to see Karry standing in front of me, looking at me with a confused face.

"It's me!" he said, frowning.

I froze the moment I saw him looking all fine. He was pranking me, again..?

"Wh--why are you--"

But soon his frown turned into a smirk. "I see, you actually care about me so much huh?" He pointed at my hands. "Look at your trembling hands. Am I that important to you? I thought you'll be happy if I'm dying."

What happened to him again? He was so sweet yesterday night and now, he was back with his annoying selfish personality?

I frowned, "I thought-- B--but why--"

"Why am I doing this? I just want to know, if you really care about me or not. I thought you would ignore me but you actually ran here," he said.

Anger was boiling inside me. Even if he wanted to test me, he couldn't do something like that. It's like he was playing with me, and my heart.

Karry's POV

"That's right, I care about you, so what?! Can't someone care about her friend who's dying?! You expect me to just stay quiet at my house when I thought you were dying and need my help?!" she yelled at me. I was completely shocked by her sudden yell.

I didn't expect that a tear would roll down her cheek, "Do you know how shocked and worried I was?! I was in the middle of shower when you called me!!"

She then whispered, almost audible. "I haven't-- I haven't even wear my shoes."

She looked down, tears were dropping one by one from her eyes. I looked at her feet. There were some scratches, and of course blood. I suddenly felt guilty, to be exact, really really guilty to the point that my heart hurt so much.

I was doing this to test her, to know if she really cares about me or not, to know if I can trust her. But I didn't know that I would hurt her like this. I didn't want to see her being hurt, especially when I was the cause of it.

I should now quit from my acting. My acting of being a selfish boy right now.

I let out a soft sigh and stepped closer to her, before hugging her tightly. I was expecting her to push me away, but she didn't. She just stood there, crying louder and louder.

"Sorry," I whispered and caressed her hair gently. "I'm so sorry."

"I didn't mean to hurt you, really," I said, hugging her tighter. "I was too dumb."

After a while, she finally calmed down, so I broke the hug and stared at her. She looked at me, her eyes filled with disappointment. "Why did you do that?"

I looked down to think the exact words on how to tell her all of this. But finally, after telling her to sit on the sofa, I told her everything, about all my worries, of course excluding my feelings for her.

"It's hard for me to believe in someone, to give someone my trust," I said, hoping that she would understand why I did that.

To my surprise, she nodded her head and smiled a little, "Sorry for yelling at you. You must have a hard time before."

"So.., do you forgive me?" I asked.

"What do you think?" she grinned and stood up, heading towards the door.

"Ah come on! Give me a clear answer!" I whined and followed her to the door.

"Buy me ice cream tomorrow, and apology will be accepted," she winked and closed the door right in front of my face.

My heart skipped a beat. She just freaking winked at me!
