Chapter 8

Yanxi's POV

"Karry!" I called as soon as I saw him passed by in the school hallway.

I ran to him happily, "We got the highest score for our music project!"

He beamed, "Really? That's good!"

"I know right! Thanks to you, Mrs. Huang likes it," I smiled.

"What do you mean?"

"I played the original song before you edited it to Mrs. Huang just now because I accidentally met her in the music room," I told him. "I asked her if she already listened to our song and she said she did. I wanted her to compare the original song with the song you've edited."

He looked at me in confusion, "Why?"

"Because I want to. She said that the edited one is way better," I said.

"I feel honoured then," he smiled before a girl suddenly sling her arm around Karry's arm, making our smiles faded.

"Karry~" she whined. "Why are you talking to her? I thought you never really talk to girls except me."

Karry laughed awkwardly as he tried to remove her hand from his arm, "Uhm Peixun, we're talking about our music project."

"But I'm jealous~" she frowned and hugged his arm tighter.

I looked at her and felt so disgusted. She's so clingy, and it annoyed me. Not that I'm jealous, but I hate clingy people. I was about to leave when I heard his sudden change of voice.

"Peixun, I need to go to the bathroom now," Karry said, his voice suddenly became hoarse.

Just then, I realized that his face was so pale, his lips too. He looked like he was about to faint.

"Don't try to escape from me!" she said louder.

"I'm not but I--"

He paused, he looked like he was trying to endure the pain in his head. I frowned, wondering what happened to him.

"I really need to go," he tried his best to smile at her.

Who is she? Why is Karry so nice to her? He's usally cold and harsh towards anyone, especially girls that annoyed him.

"Don't go from me!" she pouted. "I'll come with you!"

"But you can't follow me to the bathroom--"

"Excuse me, girl. In my opinion, following people to the bathroom is not a right thing to do. You can be considered as a pervert," I finally spoke up.

I felt bad for Karry, he looked like he was really suffering with the sudden pain he had.

She looked at me and scoffed, "Just say that you're jealous."

"I AM jealous. That's why stop being clingy to him," I said, emphasizing the word 'am' before glaring at her.

I separated her from Karry and took his hand. I pulled him with me as we left that girl. I could hear her screaming from behind but I didn't care. I brought him to the school's backyard, where there was nobody there.

There was an awkward moment of silence before I cleared by throat, "You're welcome."

A small smirk appeared on his pale lips, "Are you really jealous?"

I scoffed, "Of course not. I'm just helping you because you don't look well."

"I still think you're jealous," he said.

"Yea whatever, if you said so, I won't ever help you again in my whole life," I said and turned around. I was about to leave when I heard a loud bump behind me.

I turned back and saw Karry already laying on the ground, unconscious. I widened my eyes and knelt down, "KARRY!!"

I was panicking. I really didn't know what happened to him. Nobody was there, and I couldn't carry him to the clinic.

I took out my phone and searched for Roy's number. Thankfully I have his, and he instantly picked up.

"Hello? Yanxi?"

"Roy!" I said loudly. "Come to the school's backyard with Jackson. Now!"

"What happened?!" he asked, started to get panicked.

"Karry fainted!" I replied. "Now hurry please, before anything bad happened to him."

"We're going there, wait okay?!" Roy hung up the phone and I sighed.

I touched Karry's forehead and oh gosh, it was burning. What I meant by burning was like really, really hot. I held his hands and they were the total opposite. His hands were as cold as ice.

What happened to him seriously?
