I'm Dissapointed

Hey guys, just made a slightly angry, but overall incredibly sad discovery, that my 10th anniversary AWKIF vinyl came slightly damaged.

I was never planning on opening this vinyl EVER, especially since the record shop who sent it were nice enough to shrink-wrap it for me before it was sent, and shrink-wrapped records are preferred for things like this that are collectibles. However, I was on eBay looking for other records from this store and I saw a comment/review that said that the record this person received was scuffed in some places. Not torn in half, not completely unplayable, just a little asthetically unpleasing. Of course I started having a panic attack, contemplating whether or not to check my record, and I literally spent an hour doing this until I finally decided to check. I very carefully used a small safety pin to open the shrink-wrap, I only opened it on the side where the opening was, and I pulled out the contents. I had no idea what was in this, I was very surprised at what I found though.

The outer sleeve was not on the record and had a picture from 2008 of Hayley, Jeremy, Josh, and Zac:

I turned it over (because at first I thought it was a poster, especially since it wasn't on the record), and the band lineup, and thank you's were altered

When I first got this record, the shrink-wrap at the corners was slightly torn, but it wasn't too much and I figured it was just because of the shipping company

This didn't make too confident for what was to come when I looked at the record

This didn't make too confident for what was to come when I looked at the record. Luckily, though, the record itself was pristine, despite all of the damage to the outer cover. I am happy that the vinyl itself is okay, but for the amount of money I paid ($25.99) I was expecting the packaging to be pristine as well. All in all, I'm dissapointed that the packaging was slightly damaged, and angry that I paid so much and got a slightly damaged product. And this might seem stupid to some of you, but for a collector, a collectable record should be 100% mint condition. Most likely I'll purchase another copy from a different retailer, and probably have a discussion with them about the product before I buy it and try and gain assurance that it will be in mint condition. I have only ever bought one other thing from this seller which was my S/T cd which was in excellent condition, so I wasn't expecting this. On the bright-side, I now have a playable copy to listen to, while I can keep my new one for display, and I hope if you read through this you take this as a warning from me to you to always look further into a product and its seller before you buy.
