Did They Really Cheat?

Also I'm sorry that this is being updated so late, High School Musical was on and it was the 10th anniversary edition with a cast reunion and everything, if you were born in the 90's you'll understand how big of a deal that is.

The question has been asked time and time again.

"What exactly is the origin of Chad and Hayley's relationship?"

"How did it all get started?" 

Let me offer you a possibility.

Now Hayley and Chad's relationship has always seemed a bit strange to the public, what with him being 7 and 3/4 years older than her, the fact that they didn't move in together until a year ago, and when it came out that her and Josh broke up just a couple months before her and Chad started dating. Now, Hayley refuses to tell anyone their exact anniversary, but fans speculate it to be in January or February (which could also explain the vacation they took their vacation to Disney 3 weeks after their engagement, possibly to wait for their anniversary in January?) 

When fans learned this news, some became resentful towards Chad, and even Hayley, and started to think up possible ways this all could have went down. Fans who were particularly fond on Hayley Josh's relationship, theorized that maybe the reason for Josh's cold behavior towards Hayley and Chad's relationship, and Hayley in general, was because she cheated on Josh with Chad. 

Now, say what you will about us Joshayley shippers (and I've heard it all), but some of us are actually supportive and/or don't care about Hayley and Chad's relationship.

Back to the conspiracy!

Now, depending on who you ask, you'll get different dates for when the actual cheating happened. It is generally believed that the cheating happened during summer of '07 on the Warped Tour, which was the first time Paramore and New Found Glory formally toured together, but many fans believe it might have started before that.

This is a link to a video, a little mini-documentary on Paramore's rise to fame during the Riot Era. Starting at 3 minutes and 45 seconds and lasting until 4 minutes 50 seconds, you'll hear Hayley talking about bands that they've known for "a while", then it cuts to an interview with Chad talking about Paramore. Fans speculate that because they had known each other for some time that the affair between them actually began soon after they met, and intensified in 2007 during Warped. 

The proof for this one comes mostly from Josh's behavior towards the end of 2007 and continuing for the rest of his time in Paramore. A lot of older fans say that Josh was a really enthusiastic, energetic performer and he was the same way with the fans, but this behavior slowly began to decline towards 2008. And in 2008 we started to see the quiet, reserved Josh who stayed in the same spot for the whole show until the pressure flip, but would return to his spot soon after and stay there until the show ended. 

Side note: this also gave birth to the"Josh Hair Theory", where you could tell what stage Hayley and Josh's relationship was at by how long his hair was. Basically when he had really long hair was when their relationship was great, his medium length hair represented when they started having problems, and when he cut his hair off was when their relationship ended.

In this video, Josh is asked by a fan to do an impression of Hayley. It goes something like: "oh, I'm Hayley, everybody look at me!" Now I'm not gonna claim I know when this was exactly ( although according to the hair theory they would've still been dating). And yes, I do cringe everytime I watch this video, because I think it's really sad if you think about how their relationship just fell apart and turned into that. 

Also, I'm sure Hayley has never seen this video or even heard about him doing this, I found it on accident looking for The Final Riot! So please do not send this link to Hayley or mention it to her in any way. I don't want to start anything now that Hayley and Josh are cool again, finally. 

Now, let's move onto Chad. As you may or may not know Chad has been married before. Chad was married to Sherri DuPree, lead singer of one of my favorite bands, Eisley. Their marriage only lasted a while, starting in February 2007 with a divorce finalized towards December that same year. Of course the fact that their marriage lasted less than a year seems suspicious, especially when he got a new girlfriend a couple months after the divorce was finalized. Now something interesting is that Riot! Was released June 12th 2007, 2 months and 2 days later (August 14th 2007), Eisley released an album titled Combinations. The album featured a song called "Ten Cent Blues", which recounts the story of a woman who is losing the love of her life to a woman that he is obviously in love with and that she cannot compete with. Now most every Eisley song is written by Sherri, sometimes with her sisters Stacy (vocals, keyboards) and Chauntelle (lead guitar, occasional vocals), but Sherri is a main contributor to every song, including Ten Cent Blues. Now if you look at the lyrics to Ten Cent Blues, you may find one lyric in particular very interesting.

"And then she chose to dissect me

And I was casted into poverty

But I did not agree with her

She said, "Now, you've got nerve,"

But I don't care if I'm granted

For all these things

If I were one among this crowd

Would you call that defeat?"

"Just talk yourself up and tear yourself down

Ten Cent Blues being written in 2006/2007 is considered by fans as definitive proof that Hayley and Chad were having and affair, and they weren't as secretive as they thought. Of course there are other Eisley songs that seem to offer references to Hayley herself, and the affair, but that's a different conspiracy for a different day. And say what you want, but in my opinion those lyrics are way too similar to just be a coincidence. 

So yeah, that is the conspiracy about Hayley Cheating on Josh with Chad. Please remember, when I say fans I mean fans who believe this collection of theories, I do not mean ALL Paramore fans.
