New Paramore Album Predictions

Hey guys, I wanted to talk about what my predictions are for this new Paramore album.

First though, I wanna share my opinion on something (I know I'm over-killing it now).

The whole thing with Zac and the pictures and him not actually rejoining the band, I think the whole thing was a publicity stunt. A publicity stunt is when celebrities draw attention to a certain thing or person to help promote themselves, that person, or both. They spent a month posting pictures of Zac with cryptic captions, and then he flat out says he's not rejoining the band, so what was the point of that then? Well coincidentally, around the same time Zac starts to be all buddy buddy with them again, he has a new single (Know The Feeling) coming out, and Paramore have a new album in the works. I think, the reason they were posting the pictures was to get fans to go crazy and get the media to focus on both them and Zac. Zac has never had more news articles about him than when everyone thought he might rejoin Paramore. Half/Noise has had some success, but not as much as when those photos were coming out and everyone was talking about Zac and Half/Noise and Paramore. And this was just a theory, I didn't totally believe it, I had some sliver of hope that it wasn't true. But then, I got onto Twitter and Hayley was tweeting about Zac's new single (In The Summer) and telling people to check it out, and then Zac responded with something about how he's coming to the studio (where the at right now recording) and asked if they wanted cookies and Hayley said he was the only cookie they need. So, we can gather that there's gonna be a snapchat or pic with Zac in it coming out soon, and then probably a million more speculative articles. This doesn't just seem like weird timing to me, this seems calculated. Zac doesn't hang out with them for almost three weeks, then the day his new single drops he's going to see them in the studio? And it's just a coincidence? I'm not buying it.

So anyways, predictions for the new album.

Sound:

In terms of sound, I'm predicting that this album will land somewhere between BNE and Paramore, but not be quite like The Singles Club:

I think it will have some of the anger of BNE, because of the whole Jeremy/Lawsuit situation, and definitely and handful of songs about Chad (duh)

I think it will have some of the anger of BNE, because of the whole Jeremy/Lawsuit situation, and definitely and handful of songs about Chad (duh). I also think it will have the hopeful and experimental themes of Paramore, because obviously they've managed to have hope and survive without Jeremy and also because they're working with JMJ again and he has so many different influences and I'm sure Hayley and Taylor are learning from him again like they did during the S/T record. Sonically I think it might be a little more electronic than the S/T album and that honestly scares me. Even being as electronic as it was, Paramore still kept the edge that the band has always had, I think that's what made the songs stick so well, and I just don't think the songs will stick as well if the album loses that edge.

Collaborations

Paramore have only done one collaboration, and that was HTSYHB with Joy Williams. But, I think they might be open to doing more collaborations now that they've got the first one out of the way, and here are some people I think might show up on this new record:

I think Chad might have guest vocals on at least one song. That is permitting that New Found Glory decide to work on their new album (which they will be doing after Warped) in Tennessee. I think now that they're married, and have time off at the same time, they might help each other with their respective albums. I know Hayley helped him on the What's Eating Gilbert debut record (check it out btw, it actually didn't suck), she was obviously featured on Wearing Your Ring, so I think she will help Chad, and they will help each other on their albums. They finally have the opportunity for this collaboration, and I can't imagine that they'll pass it up.

Going back to what Hayley tweeted about an hour ago (at the time of this post), Zac is visiting them in the studio, and Hayley is currently working on vocals, so I think it is possible that Zac could have a vocal spot on this new album. Which isn't terrible, he's a great vocalist, but like I said I really don't think Paramore should tread the path of Half/Noise, I don't think it would suit them as well as it suits Zac (and you can totally disagree, that's fine).

Taylor? I put a question mark, because I'm really not sure. We haven't seen any pictures of Taylor's face near a recording mic, but Hayley has been hell-bent on getting a vocal collaboration out of him, and I think this might be the album where she gets her way.

Dates:

My prediction to have this album finished, like completely mastered and everything, is August/September (but I also think October is a possibility because they seem to be recording instruments one at a time which could take some time). And as for a release date I'm thinking January/February/March. I think there's a very slim possibllity that they would release it in December, but I would bet on it.

So those are my predictions for this Paramore album, and kind of a mini-theory about what all that stuff with Zac was really about. Tell me what you're predicting for this album, and if you think all this Zac stuff is really a publicity stunt. Thank you guys for reading, I'll catch you later with a new post. I love you all. - H
