Quotes for this chapter:
"Maybe, it is just enough to believe with a positive heart that people didn't let you down. It could be just this: They couldn't give you the compassion you really wanted based on where their heart is right now. Maybe, not now, but years later they will catch the memory of you in a quiet moment. There on that Sunday morning, a light will shine through the fog of lies, misunderstanding and frustration they built inside their angry mind about your true character. And, when it does, the shadows will be casted out to reveal a scared and hurt little boy or girl that just wanted to be loved, but went about it all wrong. Maybe, on that day, the whisper of their gratitude for your love will find its way back to your heart. And when that day comes, you will find yourself smiling all day long and not know why."

I think scars are like battle wounds - beautiful, in a way. They show what you've been through and how strong you are for coming out of it.

It was finally over. The fight between light and darkness had finally ended. Your mind was consumed by the thoughts of the past events. You knew that it would be hard for everyone to just forget what happened before. You knew that you had to move on but felt yourself wanting to see Yugi and your other friends. You felt a sense of relief, you were happy that you didn't have to think about risking your own life to save the lives of the ones that you truly cared about. You began to think of your friends and you wondered how they felt about everything that happened these past several weeks. You wanted to see them, but you knew that you had to let everyone wind down for a little while until they were ready to talk about it themselves.
Yugi paced around his bedroom, thinking about the fight between the phoenix fiends. I can't believe that it's finally over now. I hope that nothing bad will happen again, I don't think that everyone would want to go through that horrific scene again. I wonder what everyone else is thinking right now. Well then again, Mai is probably travelling somewhere like she usually does. This is something that I don't want to think about, but I can't help but think of why it happened. I honestly wonder what will happen to us now.
You sat down, looking through a book as your mind was preoccupied with thoughts of the aftermath of the fight. You decided to get your mind off of it by continuing to skim the novel held in your shaking hands. You kept reading the novel until you suddenly heard a sound. You put down the book and went to investigate. You went down and saw your uncle smiling sheepishly. "Oh it's just you, Uncle Pegasus." You asked, "What are you doing anyway?" He said, "I was looking at this picture of Cecelia and I was trying to find a frame to put it in." Cecelia? That's right! Yugi told me that Cecelia was Uncle's wife, Yugi also told me that they were in love for a very long time but she had died after they had gotten married. Uncle must have loved her a lot. You ask him, "What was Cecelia like?" He answers, "Cecelia was absolutely beautiful, Y/N. I had butterflies when I saw her for the first time. She left me breathless." You reply, "She must've meant a lot to you, uncle." He nods and adds, "She was also very kind as well. It's been a very long time since she passed away. You would've loved her, my dear. I'm sure Cecelia would have loved to meet you. You know Y/N, sometimes when I see you, I can see bits of Cecelia inside of you." You became confused, "How can you see bits of her within me?" He explained, "You are just as selfless and kind-hearted as she is." You then said, "Cecelia sounds like mom when she was younger." Pegasus chuckles, "Your mother was quite the drama queen when she was younger. Although she was that way, she's still selfless and kind-hearted. She never gave a second thought to helping anyone when they're in trouble." Pegasus nods and he then says, "I would love to talk more, my dear but I have meeting to attend. The meeting can't start without the host!" You watched as he walked out of the living room and headed towards the meeting room.
You went back to reading your book once more, as you began to get absorbed in the book, you heard another sound causing you to turn around. You saw your friends standing at your bedroom door. You said, "Hey guys, what brings you here?" Joey replies, "Yugi would not stop talking about how much he missed you so we decided to come over." Yugi blushed at Joey's remark. You then notice that Yugi had left Joey's side and had gone over to you. He kissed your cheek and gives you a smile. Duke gagged along with Tristan at the action, "Get a room, you two!" You ignore Duke's little statement and ask, "What are you all doing here exactly?" Téa admits, "We were worried about you and we wanted to see if you were okay after that battle." You reply, "Yes, that battle was definitely something that we won't be able to forget that's for sure. We have to move on though, Téa. We can't keep reminiscing on the past." She replied, "I guess you're right, Y/N." You ask, "Do you guys know what you want to do in the future?" Téa answers, "Well I know that I want to be a professional dancer." Joey announced, "I'm going to enter tons of duelling tournaments and become the best duellist in the entire world." Why am I not surprised at that? Duke shrugs, "To be honest, I have no idea what I want to do for my future." Tristan said, "I'm with Duke, I didn't even think about the future yet." You reply, "That's fine, guys. You still have a while until you have to make those kinds of decisions."
Everyone (except Yugi) left the mansion after the conversation you had. You laid on your bed as Yugi laid beside you. You asked, "Do you know what you want to do in the future, Yugi?" Yugi shook his head, "No, I haven't. I mean I know that I want to spend my future time with you but I don't know how I would spend it though." You reply, "I understand, I mean it's strange to think of the future when there's still a lot to think about now." Yugi adds, "You mean so much to me, Y/N. I don't think that I can imagine spending my future life with anyone else. You are the only one who truly understands how I feel about everything." You blush and reply, "You know, you always give me butterflies every time I see you, Yugi." Yugi kisses your forehead and you lay your head on his chest. You then add, "I can't stop thinking of what the future might be like for us." Yugi said, "I'm sure that wherever the future will take us, it will be a place that we can both call our happy place and that we can live in peace."
Yugi left your room and went downstairs towards the entrance. Pegasus said, "Oh Yugi-boy, just the person I wanted to see." Yugi became confused at what Pegasus had just said. Yugi asks, "Why do you want to see me, Pegasus?" He replied, "Well I wanted to talk to you about, Y/N." Yugi responds, "Um..alright." Pegasus spoke seriously, "I want you to promise me that you won't do anything to hurt Y/N and if you do hurt her, I will not be so forgiving of it. Y/N is my only niece and I want to make sure that she is happy." Yugi said, "I don't plan on hurting her at all. She makes me really happy and I don't want her to be uncomfortable with anything."
You ran downstairs, hoping that Yugi had not left already. You saw him standing at the entrance, talking with Pegasus. You said, "Yugi! You forgot this!" You hand him his backpack and he replies, "Thank you, Y/N. I almost forgot about it." He then whispers in your ear, "I'll see you soon, my little dove." You blush and Yugi kisses your cheek before saying goodbye.
You knew that whatever the future held for you and Yugi, it would be one full of exuberance.
