Chapter 4

A/N: this is going to be a short chapter :). I'm so tired right now, and my brain is still in school mode.....even though I'm at home right now. My brain is overloaded with info...anyways, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

*****The next morning*****

You were thinking of what you had discovered yesterday with Yugi, Joey, Tristan and Tèa. You were staring at yourself in the mirror, thinking of what else might happen. You shake your head and say, "There has to be a logical explanation for all of this."

You were walking to school when you hear someone say, "Wait up!" You turn around and see Joey and Tristan running up to you. You quietly say, "Um...thanks for...you know." Joey said, "No one hurts our friend and gets away with it!" Tristan nods, "Yeah, Joey's right for once." Joey objects, "For once?!?" You giggle at their banter.

You wave to Téa and Yugi, but you noticed that he looked rather downcast. You said, "Um..Yugi." Yugi suddenly said, "This is your fault, Y/N! If I never met you, then grandpa would be okay!" You bit your lip and Joey said, "That's kind of harsh, Yug. Y/N doesn't have anything to do with this." You said, "No. He's right." You quietly turn away and walk out of the room. Tèa said, "Joey's right, Yugi." Yugi just looked out the window, thinking of his grandpa.

You sniff and wipe away your tears. "Maybe Yugi is right, I shouldn't have brought him into this mess." "Y/N?" You see Tristan and Tèa looking back at you with concern. You look out and Tristan spoke, "It's not your fault that all of this happened. Yugi is just upset." You reply, "He's not upset, he hates me." Tèa shook her head, "Yugi doesn't hate you, he just doesn't know how to express his feelings properly." "They're right." You hear Yugi say, "It's okay, Téa. I'll talk to her." You look out at the view, avoiding Yugi's eyes altogether, heart in pieces. Yugi began to speak, "Y/N, I didn't mean to snap at you like that. I just can't accept the fact that grandpa is gone. He's already been through so much and I don't want him to get hurt again." You stayed silent and heard him add, "I'm not good at expressing my emotions, and I didn't think before I said any of what I said before. I'm sorry, Y/N." You kept silent and watched the clouds sail by. You finally spoke, "I'm not upset, I was just stunned. I didn't think that you would feel that way, Yugi." You continue, "I guess it's only natural to feel that way when someone close to you suddenly disappears." You turn and face the amethyst-eyed boy. Yugi saw your red eyes and you were about to say something when you suddenly felt yourself being held. "Y-Yugi." Yugi hugs you and responds, "I didn't think that you would be this upset. I didn't mean to make you feel this way." Your heart began to race, cheeks turning rosy as Yugi hugged you. Yugi said as he took your hand, "Let's go. Everyone is probably worried about the both of us."

You see Téa, Joey and Tristan standing in front of a desk where another boy stood. This boy has short black hair, wore a red/black headband and green eyes. He was also wearing a standard Domino High School uniform. Yugi greets the boy, "Hi Duke." Duke sees you with Yugi and says, "So you're the new girl. I'm Duke Devlin, the coolest person you'll ever meet." Joey objects, "You wish, Dice Boy! Everybody knows that Joey Wheeler is the cool kid around here." The boy, you now know as Duke retorts, "Yeah right! I'm the cooler one here, Joey!" They remind me of my cousins from Y/HT. Joey whines, "Come on Y/N! Back me up here!" You reply, "You got yourself into this mess, Joey." Téa began to laugh hysterically, making Joey glare at her with annoyance. Duke asks, "So Y/N, are you a good duellist?" You answer, "I guess, I'm just average." Yugi interjects, "She's really good, Duke. She has the coolest deck that I've ever seen." Duke looks at you with curiosity, "Mind if I take a look?" You shake your head, "No, not at all." You take out your deck and place it on the desk in front of Duke. His eyes widen, "I've never seen these monsters before. Sun Crystal Magician? Sun Crystal Bear? How did you get these cards?" You reply, "Well....uh..." Joey said, "Pegasus is her uncle." Yugi, Téa and Tristan said, "Joey!" You said, "It's alright guys. You don't have to scold Joey over that." Duke was stunned, "You're related to Maximillion Pegasus?!?" You rub the back of your neck and answer, "Yes I am." Yugi chimes, "Now Pegasus has disappeared along with grandpa and we have no idea where they might be right now. We're totally lost." Duke said, "They disappeared without a trace? That's really weird." You nod, "We were all thinking the same thing."

You were sitting outside after class had ended, as you tried to compose your thoughts. I wonder what that sentence really meant. Maybe it has something to do with Uncle Pegasus' and Solomon Muto's disappearances. This is too much to stress about right now. You hear someone clear their throat, making you turn your head in that direction. You see who it is and say, "Oh um...hi." Duke asks, "How do you even tolerate Joey's stupidity?" You reply, "It's not really stupidity but it's just how Joey is, I guess. I don't know, I've never met someone so carefree before." You add, "Joey told me about his sister, Serenity. They must be very close with each other. Their bond as brother and sister must be very strong also." Duke was about to respond when he heard someone object, "You wanna say that again, Dukey?!?" You both turn to see Joey with steam coming out of his ears. I swear those two are so focused on each other's idiocy more than the real situation at hand.

It was about two hours later and you were back home. Why can't I stop thinking of before? Why can't I get him out of my mind? "Yugi Muto, why are you the one on my mind right now? What is it about you that is making me feel like this?" You jump when you hear the door open, clutching your heart in surprise. You said, "Sorry Croquet, I didn't realize that you were there." He chuckles and replies, "That's alright, Miss." Croquet added, "I just wanted to tell you that dinner is ready, Miss Y/N." You nod, "Okay, I'll be there soon." You couldn't eat, your mind still lingered over what Yugi had said. It's your fault that grandpa's gone! "Are you not well?" Your head snaps and you answer, "I'm fine, just thinking." Croquet said, "I apologize, Miss but I have other matters I need to attend to." You reply, "It's alright, go ahead." He gives you a smile and you were now alone in the dining hall. You whisper, "Uncle, please be okay. I don't want to lose you." You sigh and feel your heart constrict with pain.

*****Flashback*****

"Can't you do anything right?!?" You hid yourself from your parents and attempted to drown out the yelling. "It's your fault Y/MN! You can't even say one thing to make your own daughter feel more confident about who she is as a person!" "It's not my fault that Y/N can't speak for herself Y/FN! She can't even make any friends!" "She is capable of making friends, she hasn't found anyone yet but she will open her heart to someone." You felt your heart shatter in sadness. "She's my daughter Y/MN, she is yours as well. You brought Y/N into this world with a sense of happiness, what happened to that determination? Did you give up on your own daughter because of her own struggles?"

*****Flashback over*****

You wanted to forget the harsh words of the past but it always lingers inside your brain, haunting your conscience and causing you to become hesitant. You didn't understand why your mother was so ashamed of you. You are only human and you had the right to express your emotions as much as she did.

*****Flashback #2*****

"Why do you think that she's so anti-social?!? It's her fault for being so quiet." "Y/N is not anti-social, she has a hard time expressing her true emotions." "Well, I think that those creatures should take her away." "Are you mad?!? They can devour her within seconds and she would be gone."

****flashback over****

You stop, "Those creatures mom and dad were arguing about. They're the ones that took Uncle Pegasus and Solomon Muto."
