So many people get involved with carrying grudges and having these moral battles with people, where they cast themselves as the righteous and the other guy is the dirtbag. They waste tons of energy on it, create all kinds of darkness around themselves and the other person. It gets you nothing.

This is it. This was the final match for this long and eventful competition. You were waiting, waiting for the opportunity to show Seto Kaiba what you were really made of. You sigh to yourself as you felt a hand on your shoulder. "Oh hey Joey." Joey said, "Don't let Kaiba drag you down, Y/N. He's a jerk and he only wants to see you suffer in misery. By the way, we all have your backs don't worry." "Joey's right for once." Joey became annoyed, "You want to say that again, Dukey-boy?!?" The jade-eyed boy rolled his eyes, "Whatever, Joey. Look, we get that you're nervous but don't let any of this stuff mess up your strategy." You reply, "I know that I shouldn't be nervous, but I can't help it. Not only is this the final match but this duel determines who the champion is after." Duke points out, "You're usually really calm when it comes to things like this, Y/N. Is something bothering you?" Yeah I want to scream out in desperation. You respond, "I'm alright, really." Tristan said, "Your face tells a different story, Y/N. You don't have to hide how you really feel from us, its okay to be nervous sometimes. It's normal, its a human emotion we all have." You nod, "I guess you're right, Tristan." "Y/N L/N report to the duelling area for your match!" You said, "That's my cue, wish me luck." You walk away as Joey said, "Good luck, buddy."

You arrive at the duelling area, nervous about the match itself. Alright, duel disk check, sanity check and deck....check. You waited for your opponent to appear, your heart racing with anxiety. You didn't know what this duel had in store for you but you were also excited to see what would happen later on.

You were looking through your cards and realized that you were missing a spell card. Oh no! Where's Sun Crystal Spellbook?!? You heard someone ask, "Looking for this?" You turned around to see Mai holding a card in her hand. Mai added, "I saw it lying on the ground near the duelling area and I saw what type of card it was, so I assumed that it was yours." You sighed, "Thanks Mai." She held it above her head and said, "Promise me one thing, Y/N. Promise me that you'll kick Kaiba's butt." You laughed at her Mai-like request. You reply, "Oh I intend to, Mai. I won't break that promise at all." Mai remarks, "Good, because the last thing I want to hear is Kaiba gloating about his win." Mai hands you the spell card that was now safely back in its spot. Mai said, "You looked like you were about to panic over that one spell. Don't be scared Y/N, I'm sure Kaiba would want you to feel that way. You can do it, we're all cheering you on." "Y/N L/N report to the duelling area for your duel! Y/N L/N." You sigh once more, "That's my cue, Mai." She remarks, "Good luck out there."

You arrived at the duelling area, not knowing what you'd face. You heard the crowd roar when Seto Kaiba arrived. He remarks, "I hope you've got a farewell speech ready because you're going to need it after this duel." What a jerk. You reply, "I'm not going to need one because I'm going to win this duel!" He snickered, "Oh really? I'll believe it when I see it, L/N." Again, what a jerk! You both said, "Let's do this!" Kaiba remarks, "I'm going first, L/N! I summon the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Why did I see that coming? I don't want to beat him in an O.T.K, that wouldn't be amusing to watch. I'll wait until later. He continued, "You're lucky because I'm not going to attack right now. I place a card face down to end my turn." Alright, let's go! You said, "I summon Sun Crystal Wyvern in defense mode, next I summon Sun Crystal Sorceress in attack mode and with her special ability, I can summon another Spellcaster to the field. So come forth, Sun Crystal Sage Hera!" Kaiba became confused, "What the heck is a Sun Crystal?" You remark, "It's not a thing, it's the type of deck I use and I'm going to use it so defeat you!" You conclude, "I place one card face down and end my turn." Kaiba replied, "You think you're going to beat me with that deck? You're sadly mistaken, you're going to be shaking with fear after I'm through with you, L/N." Someone's extremely overconfident about this duel. He continued, "I'm summoning my other Blue-Eyes White Dragons and then I'm using Polymerization to fuse them together! Come forth, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon! Now attack Sun Crystal Wyvern with White Lightning!" Great, thanks Kaiba. As Kaiba was about to continue, you both heard a loud explosion within the duelling area. What was that? "Everyone evacuate the premises! There is an unknown intruder within the building, repeat evacuate the premises!" The Phoenix fiends. A muscular creature appeared, baring eyes of indignation. He said, "Foolish humans, the blood and flesh of Safiya will kill you all!" Kaiba remarks, "Really? I'm going to make you wish that you never interrupted this duel, you stupid freak!" Not exactly the smartest move to make right now, Kaiba. The demon sent Kaiba flying back, his body trapped between illusion and reality. You stood in front of Kaiba, "Don't you dare harm him or any of the other duellists!" Kaiba said, "Get out of my way, L/N!" You reply, "No way! I know what these people are capable of, Kaiba. I know what their strengths and weaknesses are. You can't just face them without knowing what might happen to yourself if you don't make it out in one piece. They're powerful creatures and they can get inside your head pretty quickly without you even realizing that it happened." Kaiba objects, "I don't need your advice. I'm capable of beating these freaks without your help." He suddenly spoke in an inhuman voice, "You think that you can defeat our clan? You are sadly mistaken, mortal! If you want to face us, then you will face is within the shadows!" The shadows? What does he mean by that exactly? The creature spoke once more, "You aren't the only ones who will suffer, mortal. Your entire world will suffer before the hands of the phoenix fiends! Now let our battle begin, foolish girl! The world of the shadows awaits our arrival!" You were both engulfed in an onyx pall, vision becoming blurred for a moment. "Y/N! No!" You heard Yugi's scream as he called out to you.

Trapped. That's how you felt. You didn't know where you were or what you should be doing right now. What is this place and why does that thing want me out of all people? The male demon cackled, "Poor little girl, you can't even duel without the support of your little friends! Don't worry, I'll make sure that your friends see you, see you lose that is! You can't even duel with confidence!" That remark had struck a nerve inside of you, "What if he's right? I can't even duel without having someone there by my side for support. Am I that pathetic?" "Y/N snap out of it!" You call out, "Yugi?" Yugi reminds you, "You aren't alone, Y/N. We're here for you and we want you to know that its okay to have people by your side to support you. It's not called being pathetic, it's called a human emotion." He's right, this guy is trying to mess with my head. He's trying to make me feel discouraged and lame.

You said, "I'm not afraid of you! I'm going to defeat you and get Kaiba back!" The male fiend replies, "You won't be getting anybody back, mortal. Your friend is now one of us!" You respond, "Alright then! Let's duel!" The fiend remarks, "I was hoping that you'd say that." He continued, "I'll just use this boy's monsters as my own! Now Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, vanquish her sorceress!" You reply, "That's not going to happen because I activate a trap, No Entry! Your dragon is going to be switched to defense mode for now, so my life points are safe." It still has  high defense points though. I'd better be careful of this guy's monsters. The demon then adds, "I summon the Koumori Dragon in attack mode! I then place a card face down to end my turn." You said, "Alright then, my move! I summon Sun Crystal Sorceress in attack mode, next with her special ability I can summon another Spellcaster to the field! So come forth, Sun Crystal Sage Hera! Now I place two cards face down to end my turn." The possessed Kaiba responds, "You are one dumb girl, those monsters don't compare to my Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon! I summon the Judge Man in attack mode, now Judge Man destroy Sun Crystal Sorceress!" Your LP drops to 3200. He continued, "Now Blue-Eyes, end this duel and show this mortal what true power is like!" You said, "Reveal face down! I activate the No Entry trap card, which changes your monster's battle position! Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon is going to be switched to defense mode, along with your Judge Man!" The fiend growled in annoyance, he then muttered, "I end my turn now, foolish mortal." My next draw has to be something that can help me get out of this mess. Here goes. You drew your card, eyes closed in anticipation. Dark Magician? I have an idea. You said, "I summon the Dark Magician in defense mode, next I'm sacrificing it and Sun Crystal Sorceress!" The demon remarks, "What's your plan? Are you going to give up?" You reply, "I'm never going to give up! I worked hard to get where I am now, I'm not giving up now! I summon Rose Wyvern in attack mode, next I'm going to summon Sun Crystal Rose Dragon in attack mode! Rose Wyvern, demonstrate your special ability!" The demon's face down cards were destroyed, making his expression turn into a shocked one. You add, "Now Rose Wyvern, attack Judge Man with Rose Typhoon!" Judge Man was destroyed and the male fiend looked very annoyed. You add once more, "Now Rose Wyvern can attack once more due to its other special ability!" Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon was also destroyed, and you noticed that the cloud was slowly fading. You continued, "Sun Crystal Rose Dragon, attack him directly!" You then add, "By the way, Sun Crystal Rose Dragon can attack again if the first attack it makes is very successful." The demon cried out, "No! We will be back, we will conquer this world!" The black cloud disappeared and the real Kaiba fell to the ground. It's over, thank god.

Kaiba remarks to the referee, "Let's just continue the duel from where we left off." The ref nods, "We will resume the duel between Seto Kaiba and Y/N L/N!" Kaiba said, "I think my dragon was about to obliterate yours with White Lightning!" You remarked, "Sorry Kaiba! That's not going to happen because I activate the No Entry trap card, which forces your monster into defense mode now." Kaiba replied, "Whatever, I end my turn." You said, "My turn! I sacrifice Sun Crystal Sorceress and Sun Crystal Sage Hera in order to summon, Rose Wyvern!" You add, "Now watch one of its abilities come into play!" Seto's face down cards were destroyed, which made him extremely annoyed. You add, "Now Rose Wyvern, attack Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon with Rose Typhoon!" You continued, "Since two Spellcasters were used for a sacrifice in order for Rose Wyvern to be summoned, it gains 200 points for every Spellcaster that was used for the sacrifice." Rose Wyvern's ATK increases to 4300 points. You said, "Now Rose Wyvern, attack him directly!" Kaiba's LP instantly dropped to zero and the referee declares, "The winner of this match and the championship is Y/N L/N! The ceremony for the championship crowning will be held tomorrow." I did it! I beat Seto Kaiba!

Now the only thing left to face is the Phoenix fiends and their ferocious dark power.
