"This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."
-Marilyn Monroe
You think to yourself, I hope Yugi doesn't think that I look weird. You and Yugi were spending the day together, alone for the first time since you both confessed your love for each other. It was Yugi's idea to do this, which came to be a surprise to you. You had no idea what he was up to right now.
Yugi mutters, "What am I going to wear?" He threw out random pieces of clothing on to his already messy bed. He gazed towards his desk, memories of the past several weeks sinking into his mind. We haven't been able to see each other ever since that thing happened. Yugi heard his grandpa say, "Yugi, you don't want to be late!" Yugi replies, "I'll be right down, grandpa!" Yugi left the game shop and headed towards Pegasus' mansion.
You weren't at the mansion, you were at the park alone as you waited for Yugi. I guess that I should've told him that I was here and not with Uncle Pegasus. You feel your eyes become dark and hear, "Guess who?" You played along, "Hmm, I don't know....is it you, Yugi?" Yugi moved his hands from your eyes and gives you a sweet smile. His lilac eyes lit up as he smiled at you, expression filled with glee and indescribable happiness. "I missed you, Y/N." You reply, "I did too. You have no idea of how long I've been wanting to see you, Yugi." Yugi remarks, "I guess we both feel the same way then." You felt your cheeks burn as you heard Yugi's reply.
You both walked around the park when you suddenly felt yourself sneeze. Yugi asks, "Are you cold?" You were about to answer when you felt Yugi drape his jacket around your shoulders. You ask, "Aren't you going to get cold?" He shakes his head, "I'll be fine. Besides, I don't want you to get cold." Your heart warmed at the sweet gesture. You feel Yugi's hand entangle with your owns, calloused fingers brushing against one another. Your heart began to race at how attached you were to Yugi.
You look up at the sky, the azure sky reflecting the feelings of happiness that bubbled within your body. Yugi asks, "What are you thinking about, my little dove?" "Dove?" Yugi explains, "It's my nickname for you." You blush at the nickname and grin with appreciation. Yugi's arms snaked around your waist, holding you to his chest as he refused to let go of you right now. You remark, "I was thinking about us. I want to be with you for a long time. I don't know. I just feel so happy and safe when I'm around you, Yugi. You reassure me when it comes to a lot of things and you're so supportive." Yugi responds, "I'm just being honest though. I know when something is okay and when I should say something if it's not right or if it doesn't seem like it should be happening." You add, "You value your friends and your grandfather a lot too. You never leave them when they are in need." Yugi said, "Leaving someone who's in trouble is just cruel. They could be in a really bad spot and you might not even know about it until it's too late to do anything at all. I think that everyone should be helped in any way possible, even if it may have a negative impact on that person's life later on." You respond, "You're right." Yugi then asks, "What do you want to do now?" You think, "I don't know to be honest." Yugi proposed, "Why don't we just walk around for a little while? Maybe then we could do something else." You nod, "Sure, I like that idea."
You don't realize that Yugi is calling your name until you hear him yell, "Y/N!" You jump, making Yugi shake his head, "You okay?" You reply quickly, "I'm fine, just spacing out I guess." You add, "I'm thinking of what the future might be like for us after all of this drama dies down. I want us to have a joyful future full of bright and amazing memories, not one that might be filled with misery and despair. I want everyone to be happy and be free of the darkness." Yugi replies, "I know what you mean. I don't think that everyone else would want something like that to happen to them. It's not something that we can determine ourselves. It solely depends on how the rest of the world perceives what's going on right now. I don't know what the future might hold for the both of us, but I know that wherever it takes us, it will be somewhere that we can both call happiness. As long as I am with you Y/N, I don't think that anything else would really matter in terms of the future." Yugi adds, "I can't imagine my future without you, it would probably be a bleak and uninteresting one if you weren't there." You blushed once more as Yugi gently kissed your forehead.
You knew that as long as you were with Yugi, nothing would get in the way of having a bright and happy future.
