Chapter 6

We must become bigger than we have been: more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community.

Your heart was on the edge of falling off of the steep cliff of confusion. You didn't understand why though, you were fine until you had met Yugi Muto. Yugi Muto. The boy that always made your heart skip a beat and he never realizes that it happens. You were glad that it was the weekend and not a school day, the last thing you needed was any unnecessary drama in your already complicated life.

You stare at the ceiling, debating on what you should be doing at this very moment. You sigh, trying not to think of what had happened the day before. Why does this always happen? Why does everyone I meet always get hurt? Is it a curse or is it the hesitation within this beating heart of mine? You gently touch your cheek, thinking of when your parents were still loving and gentle. You didn't want to go through those flashbacks again, you thought that it was too painful to think about. You whisper once more, "Uncle, where are you?"

Yugi sat in his bedroom, thinking of what had happened before with the black cloud in your bedroom. Yugi said, "Please be okay, Grandpa. I don't know what I would do if you were gone." He then whispers to himself, "Why does my heart skip a beat every time I see her?" He took a photo frame with a picture of himself with his grandpa and he gazed at it. Grandpa. I'll find you, I promise. I won't let anyone hurt you. Yugi came downstairs and saw Joey giving him a grin. "Hey Yug! Want some company?" Yugi smiles, "Sure Joey."

Joey asks, "So what's up?" Yugi answers, "To be honest, I can't get that creepy creature out of my head. I'm afraid that something bad will happen again." Joey admits, "I just hope those things won't hurt Serenity when she comes to visit tomorrow." Yugi remembers, "Oh yeah! Serenity's coming to see you! Are you excited?" Joey nods, "I am but I just hope nothing ruins this visit."

You walk through Domino City, several bags in your hand. You mutter, "That's the last time I'll ever take a suggestion someone gives to me." You shake your head and keep walking. You then hear someone yell, "Hey Y/N!" You see Tèa running up to you and you greet her, "Hello Tèa. Why the rush?" She responds excitedly, "Serenity's here to visit!" You say, "Serenity is Joey's sister right?" She nods, "Yeah, we've known her for a long time." You smile, "I'm sure that you're all excited to see her." Tèa grins back, "Come on!" She takes your hand, making you stumble slightly. You run after Tèa and smile to yourself happily. 

You and Tèa find yourselves at Kame Game shop, you were wondering if you would see Yugi again. You were hiding behind Tèa and she asks, "What are you doing, Y/N?" You reply, "N-Nothing. This is just my shy side kicking in." You see a blond haired girl standing next to a brunette, her wide grin beaming. "Joey!" She runs to Joey and hugs him. Joey notices the both of you and says, "Oh hi guys." You watch the brunette hug Tèa, you stayed quiet as they exchanged the warm embrace. The blond haired girl notices you behind Tèa and asks, "Who's the quiet girl behind Tèa?" You come out from behind and shyly smile. You spoke with a shy tone, "I'm just a classmate of theirs, my name is Y/N L/N." The brunette girl spoke up, "Joey told me a lot about you." You ask, "H-he did?" You say, "Joey told me about you too. I'm assuming that you're the famous Serenity?" She nods happily and adds, "Joey kept talking about how cool your deck is." The blond haired girl asks, "Is it really that great?" You shrug, "I like my deck, I don't understand why Joey thinks that it's cool, though." Joey exclaims, "It is cool though! Don't you think, Yugi?" Yugi replies, "It is a really interesting deck that's for sure." Joey adds, "Come on Mai! Don't be like that!'' You sigh, "Joey, it's her opinion, besides, it doesn't matter if she doesn't think my deck is that great. It's may not be like any other deck but its one filled with a lot of memories.'' Tristan spoke next, "Y/N, you're being too hard on yourself. You beat Joey in a duel fair and square. There's no point in being so critical over something that is trivial." The blond girl, who you assumed was Mai said, "I'd like to see what that deck can do against my Harpie Ladies." You ask, "Are you saying that you want to duel me?" Mai responds, "What do you think? Of course I am!"
