A/N: Shortest chapter written......head hurts from all the info in my head. I'm sorry duellists!!!!!!!!!!
Lost in the fog, these hollow hills
Blood running hot, night chills
Without your love I'll be
So long and lost, are you missing me?Is it too late to come on home?
Are all those bridges now old stone?
Is it too late to come on home?
Can the city forgive? I hear its sad song-Long & Lost, Florence + The Machine
****The next morning****
You were glad that there was no school today, after what you had discovered about the enemy, you wouldn't be able to concentrate on what the teacher would be talking about. You saw that Yugi was sleeping peacefully on the futon laid near your bed. You tiptoe carefully, not wanting to wake the sleeping boy.
You sigh to yourself and look in the mirror. I look decent enough. You tie up your (h/c) hair into a bun and go back to your room. You walk back in to see Yugi rubbing his sleepy eyes. He looks so cute. Wait what?!? Why am I thinking about this right now?!? Yugi yawns, "Good morning, Y/N." You remark, "Morning sleepyhead. Did you sleep well?" Yugi yawns again, "To be honest, I didn't really sleep that well. I couldn't stop thinking of yesterday." You admit, "I'm feeling the same way. I'm scared more of what they might do to us now. I don't want anyone else to get hurt, Yugi. I would never forgive myself if you or anyone else got hurt because of me. I can't." You add, "Besides, I don't think Joey would want me to go near Serenity after what happened back at the game shop." Yugi replies, "Joey doesn't hate you, he was just confused at what had occurred and didn't know how to react to the entire situation at all, it's normal for Joey." You said, "I hope so, the last thing I would want right now is a broken friendship in this already dire situation." Yugi remarks, "Sometimes I wonder how you can be so calm during really stressful predicaments like this one." You shrug, "I'm used to being in stressful and bitter situations. Besides, we have no clue what will happen in a day or even in a month. Long story short, we have to be careful." Yugi said, "Well we can worry about this later. It's the weekend and I'm sure we both need to relax after everything that has happened these past several days." Took the words right out of my mouth, Yugi Muto. You nod, "I guess you're right. We can delay this for a little while." Yugi grins in victory.
You both went down for breakfast, as you were both greeted by Croquet and the other guards. They all left you and Yugi alone, so you could enjoy your breakfast. You giggle when you see the look on the violet-eyed boy's face as he ate. Yugi asks, "What's so funny?" You answer, "Nothing. You're so cute, Yugi." Yugi turned bright cerise at your sudden remark. You giggle once more and Yugi retorts back, "W-Well! You're cute too!" Now it was your turn to blush at the sudden compliment Yugi threw at your unsuspecting expression. Yugi added sweetly, "You look prettier when you're smiling, Y/N." Yugi. Why do you make me feel this way?
Yugi looked like he remembered something, "I almost forgot! There's a duelling tournament coming up in two months! I think it was called Battle City Cup or something." You answer, "I assume that KaibaCorp is in charge of it." Yugi's eyes widen, "How did you even know that, Y/N?" You reply, "I just guessed." Yugi asked you, "Are you going to enter it?" You shake your head, "No, not really. Duelling in front of a crowd isn't exactly my forte anyway. I'd freeze up and forget what I would be doing if that ever happened to me at all." Yugi responds, "You never know if you don't try. You have to face your fears head on and I know that you can do it, Y/N. I'm sure Joey and the others would say the same thing too. We have your back, Y/N. We'll do anything we can to help you." You smile, "Thank you, Yugi. That means a lot to me." Yugi gave you another smile as you felt your heartbeat quicken ever so slightly. Why is this so heartbreaking for me to do? You felt your heart crack for a moment, not wanting to tell him what you were really up to.
****Later that day****
You packed a small bag and slung it around your shoulder. You put your duel disk on your arm, your deck keeping it company. You wrote Yugi a note:
Yugi
I'm sorry. There's so much I can't tell you face to face. So much that I wish that I could say to you right now but I can't, so I'm going to tell you my true feelings in this note. You make me so happy and I'm so glad that I met you. Yugi Muto, I love you so much. So much that it makes my heart hurt and it makes me want to just tell you how I really feel about you. I can't though, it's too much for the both of us to really take in and understand the dynamics of our emotions. I don't want you to bear the burden I've put upon you. Please, be careful of whatever obstacle you're faced with.
Y/N
You place the note on the table and whisper, "I'm sorry Yugi." You look around, checking to see if anyone was there. You sigh in relief when you see that the halls were empty, you ran as fast as you could and escaped the mansion.
Yugi had come back inside your bedroom, only to see that you weren't there. He called out, "Y/N? This isn't funny! Where are you?" He saw a piece of paper on the table and began to read. He drops the piece of paper and whispers, "Why Y/N?"
You ran through the forest, feeling guilty for what you did to Yugi and all of your friends. I'm sorry that it has to be this way, Yugi. I can't let you get hurt again. You stop when you see one of the guards, you managed to hide yourself before they could find you.
You found where you were intending to go. You breathe out, "Okay, it's time to find out where they are."
