Chapter 2

There is a need for aloneness, which I don't think most people realise for an actor. Yugi Muto sat at a desk, thinking of what had happened in the past. "Hey Yug!" He jumped for a moment before greeting his friend, Joey Wheeler. Yugi held his chest, "Joey! You nearly made me fall out of my chair!" Joey said, "I heard that there's a new student coming here today! I'm going to challenge them to a duel and beat them!" Tèa Gardner rolls her eyes, "You want to beat everyone in a duel, Joey." The classroom went silent for a moment, they all see a girl at the front of the classroom.

You could feel the awkward silence in the air as everyone in the class began to stare at you. You saw violet-eyed boy sitting with three other people, two other boys and a brunette haired girl. You felt shy as you heard the teacher speak, "Meet your new classmate, Y/N L/N." You shyly smile and hear the teacher add, "You can sit beside Mr. Muto." He points to where the violet-eyed boy was and you nod. You took a deep breath and walked over to one of the desks, placing your bag on it. You take out your deck and look at the cards in your hand. "Cool cards!" You jump at the sudden voice, dropping your deck in the process. You see the violet-eyed boy handing you the cards, you said, "You didn't have to do that." He gave you a smile and said, "It's no problem. My name's Yugi. Y/N right?" You nod and Yugi adds, "Sorry about before, that was my friend who said that." You see a blond haired boy sheepishly smiling, while the brunette haired girl smacks his arm. The blond haired boy spoke, "I'm Joey Wheeler! Nice to meet ya!" The brunette haired girl spoke next, "My name's Tèa and this is Tristan." She points to the brunette boy beside her. Yugi's eyes widen, "I didn't know that you had such cool cards." You shrug, "They aren't that special, I mean I treasure them but they aren't that cool." You add, "Besides, I'm not one to brag about my deck." You hear Yugi ask, "What kind of deck do you have?" You answer, "A Spellcaster and Dragon one." Yugi asks, "Is it okay if I look through your deck?" You nod and Yugi gives you a smile. You felt yourself blush in embarrassment. His eyes widen once more, "You really do have amazing cards! You even have Magician's Valkyria and Dark Magician Girl!" You just smiled in response.

It was after school and you were walking back to your uncle's house. You sigh to yourself and look at the ground. Is this really happening?  You hear someone calling out to you, "Y/N!" You stop and see Yugi waving to you. Yugi asks, "Want to walk together?" You smile, "Okay." Yugi asks, "You okay?" You reply, "I'm fine, just thinking about stuff." Yugi adds, "Let's go to my grandpa's game shop, I'm sure that he probably wants some company.'' You both stop in front of a sign that reads "Kame Game". Yugi calls out, "Grandpa! I'm back!" You see an elderly man come down from a set of stairs and he says, ''Welcome back, Yugi." He sees you and asks, "Who's your friend?" Yugi replies, "Grandpa this is Y/N L/N, she just started at our school today." You smile and say, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Muto." Grandpa Muto said, "Same to you." He then asks, "Would you like to take a look at some cards, Y/N?" You said, "I wouldn't want to impose." Yugi said, "Grandpa has a lot of cards, I don't think that he would mind if he showed some to you." Grandpa Muto notices something and asks you, "Is that your deck by any chance?" You nod, "Yes it is, but it's not that special." Grandpa Muto asks, "May I take a look?" You hand him your deck and you see that he is having the same reaction that Yugi had back at school. He said, "Sun Crystal? I've never seen these type of cards before." You said, "My uncle is a card maker." Yugi said, "The only card maker I know is.....Pegasus?!? Wait! How do you know Maximillion Pegasus?" You sigh, "It's complicated but all I know is that he's my uncle on my father's side of the family.'' Grandpa Muto said, "You sound unsure of yourself." You admit, ''I didn't even know I had an uncle on my father's side until he told me to leave Y/HT for my own sake. I'm still trying to process that information myself."

You had left the game shop about ten minutes later and thought about your deck? Was it really that rare? Your uncle asked, "Are you alright?" You merely nod, not wanting to discuss the topic at hand. You ask, "Is my deck that rare, Uncle Pegasus?" Pegasus said, "Yes of course! There is no other deck like your Sun Crystal deck, my dear niece." You spoke up, "I uh....met someone named Yugi Muto today." He said, "Ah, Yugi boy. What a talented duellist that boy is. You know, he beat me in the Duelist Kingdom final match." You think for a moment, "I did hear something about that before but I didn't know that Yugi was the one that beat you."

Yugi, Tèa, Joey and Tristan stood outside a large mansion, thinking of something to say. Joey exclaims, "This has to be a joke!" Yugi said, "I don't know Joey but I don't think she was joking about what she had told us." Tèa sighs, "I just hope that this isn't going to be some creepy trick or something." The doors suddenly open, startling the four friends. They see Croquet, one of Pegasus' bodyguards. He said, "Do you need to see Mr. Pegasus?" Yugi asks, "We were wondering if Y/N was here?" Croquet responds, "Follow me." They all follow after him, wondering where you would be. They were surprised to see you with Pegasus, duelling together. Both of you had only 100 life points left. Pegasus said, "I'm not going to make this easy for you, Y/N. My Toon monsters are going to end this duel more quickly than they did before." You respond, "Not if I play my trap, Sun Crystal Revival! Now I can bring back, Sun Crystal Rose Dragon from my graveyard." Their eyes widen at the attack points of the dragon. It had 3800 ATK and DEF points and it was only a level 5 monster. When the duel ended, Pegasus said, "My my! We have guests!" You turn and see your classmates from before watching you. Joey exclaims, "How are you Pegasus' niece?!?" You watch Tèa smack Joey's head, "You lame brain! Don't say something like that!" You said, "It's complicated." Pegasus added, "Now now, Joey boy! No need to be fuming over nothing." You face palm, "Uncle, that's not helping our case." Pegasus said, "Well I have to get going! Things to do! Y/N, why don't you show them to your room?" Before you could object, he disappeared.

You were all in your bedroom, just sitting around your bed. Yugi said, "If you don't mind me asking, Y/N, when did you find out that Pegasus was your uncle?" You hesitate before replying, "My dad told me one night after a fight with my mother. He didn't tell me because he thought that I would be in danger if anyone else found out." You suddenly heard something explode, "W-What was that?!?" You all run downstairs and see Pegasus shaking in fear. You ask, "Uncle, what happened?" He didn't speak, which made you worry even more. You sensed something watching you, your heart beginning to race with fear. You saw a dark figure and heard it speak, "The darkness will corrupt your soul!"
