Since that day, every issue they had with each other was put in the past where it belonged.  They never went back to it again, and for Mo Yuan there was final closure which he needed. It seemed to them both that life was just beginning.  Fate had led them to that moment, now it was up to them as to what happened next.  This was Lanhuas last gift to them for the part they played in his own fate.

For the next two years and few months of her pregnancy, Bai Qian was given no choice but to allow Mo Yuan to fuss over her.  He did allow her a couple of hours a day to herself but he insisted on being allowed to be near her as much as possible.  He may not have been able to feel the children growing or their movements as they grew, but he did want them to know his presence, hear his voice and feel the bond he was trying to create with them.

Her pregnancy was not a difficult one in the first year. Mo Yuan and Bai Qian enjoyed the feeling of being new parents all over again, and for Mo Yuan, being there for the full duration was one of his dreams come true.  He revelled in their growth, Bai Qians physical growth and the company of her family who came and went often with untold stories of her mischief that he knew nothing about.

The cravings though, gave him a glimpse into what lay ahead for him.  At all hours of the day or night, she would cry and tantrum until he got what she wanted.  Everything from sweet treats to abalone, which was a delicacy he could only get from the Mortal realm.  And it didn't matter what time of night, if she wanted it, Mo Yuan learned very quickly to get it, or face her wrath.

No amount of reasoning would calm her down, that in the end, her tears and threats to go and get it herself, had him up and moving, even if it meant he also got a few rare minutes of peace and quiet.  But eventually the cravings did ease and he began to relax hoping the worst was over.

Gifts had already begun to arrive, some of which were so beautiful they brought tears to her eyes.  Die Fengs people of the West Seas, gifted a double cradle in the shape of a clam shell which played soothing soft sounds of the ocean or a gentle melody to ease them both to sleep.

The twins also received twin maids from the Celestial Heavens who would help alongside the six Qing Qiu girls that her mother had chosen.  Though Bai Qian insisted all of them would only be needed for the first few months, she did not want a troop of maids taking over Kunlun Mountain.

Though this was to ensure that Mo Yuans school for boys remained for boys, with her as the only woman.  Though she also insisted she be called Bai Qian by her brothers, rather than mistress or even worse, Mother.

"I don't care what the world calls me, but I am just Bai Qian here." she informed Mo Yuan who tried once again to explain her titles were now a part of her and she had to accept them.

"That is fine, but you must allow the people to greet you according to your rank." he said firmly.

She knew he was right of course, but being pregnant and at times unreasonable, Mo Yuan soon learned to let some things lie.  It was pointless arguing with her, when in the end, all she did was cry.  And if she wasn't crying, she was throwing whatever she could get her hands on.

Things continued to move slowly but steady for them both, but as the final year kicked in, so did the pregnancy blues.  If she wasn't crying and tearful at everything he said and did, she was angry, throwing up barriers and storming about the mountain threatening her brothers and even Gaogui.

And the only one who could pull her back was her mother.   Though the moment Zhe Yan heard she was having a hard time, he too stepped in with a potion that would ease the emotional turmoil she was in.  And it did help, but not so much with the morning sickness which at times had Mo Yuan feeling just as ill.
