Kunlun Mountain Part 4 - The Return

Chapter 45 - The Power Surge

Scanning the surrounding Valleys, Bai Qian ensured no one was on the Mountain before she herself rose into the air.  The distance to the Pillar was over 100 miles high above their world, but as she rose she took her time to go over everything she would need to do.  Lanhua had not given her any instructions and having already said goodbye to their world, she did not think she would be able to return should anything happen to her.

She was completely alone with her task, no one could help her with it, and the closer she got to it, the more fearful she became.  Not so much for herself, but her world.  They were all relying on her and the pressure to succeed was overwhelming, they all needed what only she could give them, but she did not pause in her flight upwards.

Stopping, she turned around and looked at the Mountain that had been her home for centuries.  Kunlun Mountain was where it all began for her and though she felt great sorrow for those below who had lost their homes, she could not allow the destruction of the one place that had given her so much.  She knew it was a selfish thought, but Kunlun Mountain was as much her home as it was an artifact.

This was something else she did not tell Mo Yuan about.  When she opened the full might of the Nine Pillars upon the world, Kunlun Mountain would suffer greatly.  Instead, she opened her hands threw up a barrier around the entire mountain.  It was thick and exceptionally strong, and though there would be some damage, it would hold long enough to save most of it.  And between herself and Mo Yuan they would in time be able to recreate what they lost.  Then turning, her face went upwards.  

The structure was the only thing on her mind from that moment on.  It took only a few minutes to traverse the distance, but the closer she got to the structure, which was enormous, the stronger the pull of its energy.  She felt the pull in every cell of her body as it drew her closer as if it knew she was its creator.  

Slowly she circled the barrier while she took in everything she could see.  Nine Pillars of energy rose even higher which were all rising up from the crystal dais directly beneath them. Ye Hua and Gaogui suggested that the Creation Chamber was directly below that, though unseen by the naked, but the longer she studied it, she realized that the dais itself was the Chamber, she had completely transformed the old Creation Chamber into a Dais of immense energy.

Knowing her family were watching on anxiously,  she allowed the Pillars to draw her through the barrier.  Passing though easily she allowed the energy of the structure to guide her inwards until she was standing in the very centre.

The dais below her was throbbing madly with power so enormous, she felt her own energy rising the longer she stayed in there doing nothing.  Initially it felt good, but she knew, too much of a good thing was not a good thing in the end. So closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and began to build a shield around herself.  Her shield had to be strong enough so that when it reached its full capacity she should not be able to feel the throb coming from the Pillars and this is what she did.  

From the air, Mo Yuan and her family could not see her inside the structure, but they all saw her enter it.  It was several minutes more before they all began to notice a change in the energy surrounding it.  Flaring outwards, the power of the structure began to change and with it, the size.  It seemed as if she were drawing it all inwards towards her, as if she were diminishing its size, but the smaller the structure became the more power the throb which they call all feel.

Suggesting that they move back further, Mo Yuan directed the Disciples to lower themselves and order everyone below them into the air.  So lowering themselves and spreading out as quickly as possible, hundreds rose to join their small group.  Only Mo Yuan, Di Jun, Ye Hua and Gaogui were at the front of the group.  Spread out, they ensured no one passed them as they all continued to watch as the structure diminished in size.
