The Ghost Realm
Mo Yuan felt himself losing control of his body and soul the moment Li Jings power entered Qing Cangs soul pieces. Though at the time he did not understand what the new energy meant, he knew enough to know that he would not be able to maintain the fragile hold he had over his own soul.
Opening his eyes, he had tried to gain Zhe Yans attention, but Qing Cang had moved too swiftly. And as the week drew on, he could feel his own thoughts and feelings leaving him rapidly. Unable to talk to anyone in the final few days, before he lost complete control, Mo Yuan had spent the time channeling his energy towards the seat of his soul to block him out, but he had weakened too much, that in the end, and with Li Jing power to assist him, Qing Cang gained enough of a foothold to take over.
Now battling in the Ghost Realm to reclaim his place as their Overlord, Qing Cang knew the form he had arrived in would not be accepted nor acceptable, but he fought his way in anyway. And with the War Gods cultivation and vast knowledge to draw on, no one was able to stand in his way.
Hundreds died in just one hour, which was all it took for him to gain entry to his own Palace where his old advisers had scrambled from their beds to meet him, along with the one man who knew exactly who he was, the one he had trusted above all others with the knowledge of his return.
Bowing low, the moment he entered his Palace, Qing Cang took in the state of his men and the the state of his Palace. It had once flowed with energy, sound and laughter, even in the middle of the night. Scantily clad women could be seen everywhere, wine was consumed by all no matter the occasion, in fact there did not need to be an occasion, every day was for living and filling it with every possible enjoyment.
Yet what met him was in vast contrast to what he knew. His harem had been ordered into seclusion. They no longer roamed the vast Palace at will, they no longer danced or sang and they certainly did not drink, if anything they had all been hidden from view and left to wile away the long years in lonely quiet abandonment.
"My Lord. You have returned. Welcome home." General Mao said smiling up at him. Only he had been Qing Cangs most trusted, even above his own advisers. His place beside Qing Cang had been purposely kept low key in order to maintain the secrecy behind the many secrets he had shared with him. And the day that Princess Yan Zhi returned from the Mortal Realm with a look on her face he knew well, he knew then that his Overlord had returned.
And it was the sole reason why he had ordered Li Jings life to be taken. Qing Cang would need his essence to strengthen his soul pieces, though as for Yan Zhi, her life was now at the hands of her father. Whether he needed the power she too contained, would depend on how strong he was. She had always been his favored child, hence one of the reasons why General Mao had kept her alive, the other was in order to keep the Palace running with an Overlord in place in order to keep the people calm. Had he also taken her life, they would have risen up against him.
Now looking at the form he had arrived in, it was just as the Prophetess had predicted. Humbled by the sheer miracle of his return and in the form of the Worlds most revered War God was almost beyond belief, but they could all feel their Overlords essence, even though Mo Yuans was evident.
"Yes I am back. My harem, release them now." he ordered. Whatever news he had to learn of could wait, he had only one thing on his mind and that was women and wine, and the thought of using Mo Yuans body to pleasure himself, a man who had abstained from all pleasure for centuries was just too delicious a thought to let go.
Then ordering his musicians into the Palace, men who had also been sent into seclusion, Qing Cang took his place at the side of the Hall where he had always sat.
