Arriving in Qing Qiu, Mo Yuan wasn't sure how he would be received.  If she was anything like she was as a young woman, he was expecting to be barred at the entrance, but surprisingly, he was met by Bai Zhen who was just about to head for Kunlun Mountain.

"Xiao Wu isn't here High God Mo Yuan, she is with Father helping him to close some of the large fissures that opened up during the destruction." he explained as he led him into the den where The Empress was preparing dinner.

"Ahh Mo Yuan." she called out when Mo Gu informed her of his arrival.

"Good afternoon, I hope I am not intruding.  I came to collect Bai Qian." he said smiling at her as she walked into the main den where he was being led to sit down.

Turning to look at Mi Gu, he nodded his head lightly before heading back to the kitchen.  He knew the look well, and tea with refreshments was what it had meant.

"Why don't you head to Kunlun Mountain, I'm sure Ye Hua and Gaogui are dying to catch up with you." she nodded at Bai Zhen, having heard nothing but their names all day and the wonderful feats the boys had been achieving on Kunlun Mountain.

Waiting until he left, she took a seat opposite him and observed his expression thoughtfully.  "What happened Mo Yuan?" she asked.  Knowing the man so well, and her daughter even more so, she knew something had happened.

And he knew she would see right through him, she always did.  "Shao Wan and Honghui to be exact." he grimaced at her.  "But for the life of me I have no idea what was said between them, but they were both eventually kicked off the mountain." he added before rubbing at the pain in the side of his head.

''Well that explains the tears," she said softly shaking her head,

"She was crying?"he asked startled and beginning to rise before she waved him back down.

"Mo Yuan, you know that woman as well as I do.  She has always been a vain woman, so she will definitely see Qian Qian as a threat.  You can guarantee that whatever was said, was shocking enough to rock her this much.  Qian Qian is no longer that little girl you left behind, she would have thought long and hard before returning home." she said without mincing words or making it any easier on him.

"What do I do?" he asked with his head in his hands.

"Wait for her to come to you." she replied honestly.

"But I can't let her believe the lies.  Nothing happened between myself and that woman.  Absolutely nothing." he said vehemently before pounding his fists into his knees which startled Mi Gu who had arrived with a tea tray.

Looking at him beating himself up, the Empress eventually smiled.  "Alright Mo Yuan calm down.  I believe you." she said before pouring him a cup of tea to calm his nerves.  Mo Yuan never lied.  If he said nothing happened, then that was the honest truth.

"Then you'll talk to her?" he asked with hope in his eyes.

Nodding her head, she agreed.  She did not care to involve herself in others affairs as a rule, but when it came to that woman, she was not going to let whatever lies she had told, influence her daughter.

"I'll talk to her, but it would be best that you are not here when she returns.  Just let me deal with it, and once she settles down, she will return to you." she smiled at him.

Agreeing, he began to realize just how little he knew of Qian Qian.  When she was younger, he could always sway her back towards him, but she was not that little girl anymore.  She thought things through before acting, she took time to think on the consequences and once she made up her mind, she rarely went back on it.
