Qing Qiu.
Dawn had just broken and for the first time in a very long time, she did not need to wake her daughter. Bai Qian was wide awake and more than ready to begin the day. In fact she had been up most of the night unable to sleep from all the excitement, but rather than being tired, she had never felt so alive as she did then.
Having spent the last hour packing away the toys her elders thought would assist her into a life time of endless fun and games, she instead boxed them all up and threw them all into the Dens large closet which contained useful things that no one would ever use.
Once she had the unsightly things out of sight, they were instantly out of mind as she then returned to her chamber to fuss over her wedding gown and robes. And although she was desperate for the day to begin, she was considerate enough to leave her family to sleep, they too would need their strength to get through the day.
And as that thought hit, she sat her self down at her mirror to comb out her hair. "I have changed so much...." she whispered to her reflection. There had once been a time when she would have stormed through the den waking her entire family and demanding instant attention, especially on her birthdays which began the moment her eyes opened.
Pulling the comb through her long tresses, she could still hear the giggling and excited chatter as her family rose sleepily from their beds just to ensure her special day started on a good note, regardless of the late night that had them all preparing the den with decorations, wrapping gifts and preparing birthday food and wine just for her.
And amid the gushing and jumping about, her fathers tired eyes would enter the room and instantly sparkle and twinkle at her exuberance and excitement. Laughing, he would pick her up and swing her about the den with her mothers tired eyes also sparkling at the screeching and high pitched laughter.
"You are getting so old, soon I will have to marry you off." he had fake cried before throwing her into the air.
"Papa, when I grow up, I want to marry you!" she had screamed above his head before he caught her to draw her wriggling body against him.
Tearing at the memory, she wondered what her father would have thought had he known then who she would have fallen in love with.
And as her mind went back, conversations, antics, and all kinds of scenes from her memories began to play through her mind. But more so the antics and what had led her to being sent to Kunlun Mountain in the first place.
"What a naughty child I was..." she giggled softly to herself as Zhe Yans angry roar came back to her.
"Where is that girl?" he had yelled as he stormed through the den having taken every single one of his robes and dyed them all bright orange because it was a color she had loved at the time.
Not only had she hidden inside a wooden chest in her fathers study, she had dyed everyones gowns bright orange including his. Unfortunately for her, the lock on the chest had caught and she could not get out of it. It took almost the entire day before they eventually found her unconscious due to the limited air that made it's way in.
It was the last mischief she had caused before she was sent to Kunlun Mountain and a War God she had thought to be very pretty and far from being scared of him, she had found a deep eternal love for the man she had thought was a monster.
So many things had happened in her lifetime, so many beautiful people had touched her life and brought her to that moment, people who would not be with her that day, and as she thought of Dongmei, The Tree Sprite Clan, Jianyu, Meng Yao and the beautiful Liang, her heart wept for them all.
