Chapter 60 - Unborn Power

Falling though the clouds, Bai Qians mind quickly fired.  She heard Mo Yuan scream, just before the flash of light completely enveloped her.  Suddenly finding herself suspended in mid air surrounded by an energy she did not know, her head turned in all directions looking for the source.

It had taken mere seconds from the moment she felt herself falling until the energy hit her.  It also took only a few seconds before Mo Yuan, Gaogui and Ye Hua were hovering in the air beside her.

Grabbing at her with both hands, Mo Yuan quickly pulled her into his arms.  "Qian Qian...." he whispered breathlessly as his eyes raked her body for injuries.  But after a few seconds and realizing she was fine, his inner sight delved inwards towards his children.

"Mo Yuan, I'm fine.  But this energy." she whispered back at him. Raising a hand to swipe it through the golden spray tinged in florescent blue, her eyes widened at the loveliness of it.

His children were fine.  In fact, they were more than fine, the energy surrounding her, was coming directly from them.  Stunned but not overly surprised by it, he gathered her closer before gently rising into the air to carry her back.

Behind them, Gaogui and Ye Hua were just as in awe of the energy that had saved her, but the moment they all stepped into the Grand Entrance, Gaogui could not contain his grumbling.

"If you didn't want to make the banners, you should have just said so, you didn't have to throw yourself off your cloud." he mumbled past them with Ye Hua snickering under his breath as he too moved passed them to enter the Hall.

Feeling self conscious and very embarrassed, she watched the boys walk away before looking up.  His face was masked with worry but also relief.

"I'm fine Mo Yuan.  Put me down." She said wriggling in his arms.

Gently placing her onto her feet, both of them watched as the gentle spray of golden energy began to slowly seep back into her womb.

Inhaling sharply, Bai Qians eyes widened.  "Mo Yuan?" she whispered as the last of the golden spray disappeared.

"I don't think I will have to worry for your safety with those two looking after you." he said smiling as he too watched the last of it disappear.

Neither of them really understood how the twins had managed to protect her the way they did, but as Zhe Yan almost ran out to meet them, having just been informed of what had happened, he ignored her protests that everything was fine and ordered her to their bed chamber for examination.

Almost having to force her to lie down, Mo Yuan threw up a privacy barrier while Zhe Yan examined her, the twins and then the energy.  It was not a short examination but it was thorough that by the time he had finished he had come to a conclusion.

"Well." he said standing to stretch his arms.  "It seems as if the twins are more than fine.  In fact they are a very playful pair,.  I think you may find yourselves run off your feet the moment they are born." he chuckled lightly at them both as he dwelt on their energy which was swirling through her womb. 

 Not only did it reach out to play with his own, but already he could feel their strong personalities which had initially not liked his intrusion.  But the longer his energy scanned them, the sooner they settled and allowed him entry.  And 'allowed' was the operative word.  He dreaded to think what they may have done had they really been opposed to him.

"But they saved me Zhe Yan.  How is that possible." she asked sitting up to pull her dress back down.

"They would have sensed the initial fear when you fell.  If anything, the energy they released was a reaction to it.  A self preservation if you like." he explained calmly.
