Clint Barton #2

 You are in darkness. Everything is just dark; you have no idea where you are.

 You walk slowly, hold out your hands in front of you to feel for anything or anyone that could be there. But there's nothing.

 Then you hear something. It's someone calling your name, and it's a voice you know well.

 "Clint?" You begin to walk to towards the sound of the voice. "Clint, where are you?"

 You hear him call you again, and now you're running. His voice sounds urgent, maybe even a little scared.

 "Clint!" You keep running, looking for him. "Clint, I'm here!"

 You suddenly stop running. You can suddenly see now, and what you see stops you dead in your tracks.

 Clint is lying on the ground before you. His eyes are open, but he's staring up at nothing, as if he were dead. Bending down, you instantly jump back when you realize he is dead.

 There are others, too. Clint's friends, your friends, people you care about, all dead...

 You bolt upright in bed, covered in sweat, panting heavily.

 "Y/N?" you hear Clint say groggily. "You okay?"

 You nod. "Yeah. Just...had a bad dream."

 "Hold on a minute." He turns the lamp on and sits up, rubbing sleep from his eyes. "What was it?"

 "It was just a bad dream," you say. "That's all."

 "You sure?" he asks. "You look scared." He feels your hand. "You're shaking. This couldn't have any random old bad dream." 

 You shake your head. "No. It was actually really scary. I was in some dark place, and I heard you calling me. I went looking for you, but when I found you, you were dead."

 "Dead? Was that the whole dream?" he asks.

 "No. There were others there, too. Nat, Steve, all our friends, your teammates. They were all gone."

 "Come here." He wraps his arm around you and pulls you close. "I'm not part of the Avengers anymore, remember? I am officially retired. I don't what the gang is up to right now, but it doesn't have anything to do with me. You don't have anything to worry about. I promise."

 "Okay." You lay down again, snuggling close to him, hoping he's right and that you have nothing to worry about.
