Everyone in your village knows that vampires exist, everyone knows they live somewhere nearby. If that is true or not, you aren't certain. You've never seen or heard a vampire, so you don't know how much of the stories are true. For all you know, it could all be just that, stories.
However, you find yourself interested in the stories you hear. To you, vampires sound like fascinating creatures. Whether they are actually evil or not, you'd like to see one for yourself.

One night, after you've fallen asleep, you think you hear a voice saying your name. You look up, and see a man standing in front of you. You don't know who he is, but you aren't afraid. Though he has long hair and extremely pale skin, you can see he is sort of handsome.
Then he smiles at you, revealing a pair of sharp, gleaming fangs, just as vampires are said to have.
You open your eyes and sit up in bed. The man is gone, and you're alone. But not entirely; next to you a handwritten note.
Y/N,
Come to my castle tomorrow night. I am having a ball there, and I am happy to invite you. Go into the forest, through the path, and my castle will appear to you.

You imagine this is probably a bad idea, that you shouldn't go. But everything inside of you is saying, "Go! Go!"

The next night, you carefully slip out of your house and hurry off to the forest before anyone can see you. You don't want to have to answer any questions.
You stick to the main path until you see a looming figure up ahead that looks very much like a castle. Filled with excitement, you hurry towards it.
When you arrive, the front doors slowly open with a terrible creaking sound, which unnerves you a little but you still go inside.
The castle is dark and gloomy, lit with only a small number of torches. You assume this is the sort of place vampires live in.
"Y/N."
The man from your dream, Count von Krolock, is suddenly standing before you.
"Welcome to my home," he says with a smile. "I am very happy you came."
